- 2012 RS Venture GT (power steering doesn't work when real cold)
2006 Indy 500
Hi All
A group of us recently bought good FRS radios, and the helmet kits to go with them. They work fantastic, except if your Yamaha is moving, or your RPM is above an idle.
The radios worked great on Arctic Cats.
How do I get rid of all the electrical interference that Yamahas produce so I can enjoy what my Cat friends are saying.
I know it is the sleds, 2011 and 2012 RS Venture GTs, because when we Yamaha guys swapped sleds, and were on the Cats, are radios worked fine.
Thanks

is it ignition noise? or exhast/engine noise? If you are getting ignition noise, make sure you are running resistor spark plugs. If it is exhaust or engine noise coming thru the mic, then you may try a better noise canceling microphone. What kind of radio??

It's ignition noise. They are Cobra radios. Would Yamaha not use resistor spark plugs in the first place?
Like I said, the problem isn't the radios. They work fine on Cats.
How do I stop the electrical interference that Yamahas produce?

I use Chatterbox's X1's which are FRS radios. My wife has a 2010 RSVector and I have an Attak. They work excellent. No noise ever. Even when other sleds are near.
Yamaha's come with R plugs I think. At least ours did. Maybe someone swapped them out at some point.

Both sleds were purchased brand new.
If Yamaha knew how to design a sled where you didn't have to take the whole f...ing thing apart to get at the plugs, I'd be checking them right now.
