First it was safe...it was more like a large 500foot puddle...if I stop, the water would be at my running boards with 3feet of ice under me...
Ok...now here's one place my Attak was better than the XTX....at speed (say 50-60mph) she would wable and scare the sh$t out of you, and man boy did my feet get wet, water was comming thru the running board like mad..
Hit the water at 80-90mph and it was ok, still not like the attak but ok...
At low speeds its was wiked, lift the skies and just wheelie acroSs, but again totally wet all over my feet, pants and seat!!
Also..no matter how slow, with water hitting my hood and face the clutches never slipped or got wet, but I did close up the hole between the clutches and the heat exchanger, no clue why its open in the first place!!!!

I would think that 144" track would walk on water pretty easily...have to wait until next year to try it out. 8

My xtx crosses water with little drama... I can't get it to wheelie like my phazer did.

I can water cross with an RTX, just water hits me in the face and clothes. Its very annoying but its still good.

Setting up sleds for water can be tricky. A lot depends on your rear skid setup, generally a stiff fts and soft setup in the rear will work the best. Sounds like you have too much ski pressure which is a problem on water. It is more critical with the extra weight of the front end on a nytro.
As with any sled take a hose and spray from inside the tunnel ahead of the drivers and see where water can get to your clutches, seal it up and she should be good to go.
