2008 Yamaha Nytro
I just got a 2008 Nytro, with 336 miles on it.

I need some storage bags, what does everybody recommend?

X2 on the Yamaha tank bag. I also have the Skinz rear bag with an exhaust turn out.

Skinz part numbers :
YTP350-BK Yamaha Tunnel Pak 2009-2012 Nytro XTX
YTP350-BK/BL Yamaha Tunnel Pak 2009-2012 Nytro XTX

I have the oversize nose bag (Yamaha), keep tools, spare lights, and extra gloves in it with room to spare but annoying being its under the hood.
This year i got a small Skinz Handlebar bag(1 sided) and that holds a knife, charger for GPS, extra goggles, Touque, and has a little extra space. (not enough for water or gatorade though)
Really happy with both bags as they don't stick out and look funny to me but i don't think the bar bag would work without the OFT relocate.

I've tried a windshield bag it could hold a pack of gum and that was about it. I have the Yamaha tank bag that I like but find when really getting after it on the trail it kinda gets in the way of leaning, not a deal breaker though. It holds a pair of gloves, maps, cords for chargers, work gloves, balaclava, and some other things. But for the last 2 years I've been wearing a Klim Krew pack and I love it. Big enough for everything you need but not to big that you over pack and weigh yourself down. I ride a lot by myself if I work up north during the week so it carries a saw and other emergency things along with an extra fleece.

I have the:
Yamaha Nytro nose bag
Storage bag that mounts over the belt guard (carried by Royal Distributing)
Skinz windshield bag
Skinz handlebar bag

Does anybody have any experience with the skins tunnel bag on the XTX? I don't want to use a turn out if I don't have to. The exhaust is pointed upward a little at idle, and at speed the
heat would just go over it, so I don't see how it can burn the bag! Does the bag have straps on the top to strap a shovel too? I would think an aluminum shovel would act as a heat shield if needed. Wouldn't have a
Shovel all the time though!

Sent from my pocket computer so excuse my spelling

The skins tunnel bag had a slip inside the packing stating that a turn out exhaust tip is required. I just installed both on my XTX. Even with the turn out it looks questionable. The skins tunnel bag once you start putting a few things in it gains some height. It should be good though.

I ruined two of these. They are too big and destruct when stuff flies around in them when they are half full. Also stuff gets warm from sitting on the rear plastic heating up your goods and melting your plastic. I think its called Yamaha Premium trunk bag. Dont buy it.

most of the time I use just a tank bag on the Nytro but when I need more storage I have these.

That's is exactly the type of thing I want to know. Thanks

It does come with mounting straps and quick release clips but I've used a length of bungee cord rope to attach it. The only problem with these is that they are not made for the Yamaha sleds. The crossover between bags is to long but can be shortened. I shortened the the distance be folding material over and sewing it. Any shop that deals with heavy material sewing will do it for only a few dollars. I dropped mine off at a shoe repair shop and they charged me $6.
