Looking for a good stud that will not rust, stud backer or nut. I know theres a lot of stainless steel studs which I would use, but a lot of them come with steel nuts??? Need opinions on a good stud with no rustin at all.

Thanks!!

I used the Woody's S.S. series on my Apex and had good luck, none broken, a few slightly bent but that's to be expected with 7,000 miles. I had an issue with the original aluminum nuts and lock washers (steel) they sent me all new aluminum nuts (nylock) which was their updated design. New backers to replace the damaged ones, and a bag of studs in case some were unusable. Very good customer service and an overall good experience with Woody’s. I should state that I do make an attempt to not beat the crap out of the sled/track etc but I did put it though its paces.

I have had good luck with Fast-trac stainless studs/nuts and round plastic backers.

Please comment on any rusting. I'm interested in the performance first but just can't stand to look at rusted out studs, especially on the nytro!!!

Also if you remember where they were purchased.

Thanks

I got my studs from Mack Stud, they are made here in NH, USA and have an untouchable 5-year bend or break warranty. You can also purchase direct from the manufacturer on the website and not through some dealer with mark up.

I tried Stainless Steel studs on my last sled and my father had some on his, after the first year we both removed them all. SS studs bend too easily and I would rather have a good strong stud then a pretty one. The Mack Studs are Zinc plated like most and won't rust nearly as fast as painted steel.

Here's mine: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=64148

2000 miles and a year later they are as sharp and straight as they were when I installed them. I am very happy with the them.

I went with Woodys Gold Diggers on my Nytro and glad I spent the money for them. No rust and not one bent or pulled through stud.

mack studs all theway. Work just like the high priced studs, but cost way less. Rich at www.richmotorsports.com sells them really cheap. he gets them in volume. I got mine from him cheaper than I could get them direct. Maxdlx

1.450's Woody's megabytes with the tall aluminum nuts...
