Well that didnt do the trick.
Just a couple questions....
When assembling, are you twisting the helix clock-wise?
Can't tell what spring you have there but you should be around 6-1 or 6-2 with twist. Spring in proper holes?
If the spring is rubbing....it sounds like the it was twisted backwards and the coils are larger rubbing on the outside.
Wish you lived close, I would fix you up.

Yeah use soap and water only, anything else can cause you some real difficulties
Soap and water isnt going to get that rubber off. Acetone works fine. Just need to let it dry off and then soap and water. Been using Acetone to remove rubber like that for years. Anyway he had the problem before he used that.
Ally did you watch the Video in FAQ on secondary spring install?

The key there is when you said "Just need to let it dry off and then soap and water" And might spell out some of those bushings are not acetone resistant so be careful where it goes. I wouldn't use acetone at all but that is just me.

I have seen post where some are cleaning clutches with acetone on a rag.
Yes just dampen the rag with Acetone. Its not going anywhere but the faces. Instantly takes off that rubber.

Yes this is what I understood. If a lot is put on it can go ever where and when the clutches turn run out and get on belt and maybe this is what happen ? hear.Yes just dampen the rag with Acetone. Its not going anywhere but the faces. Instantly takes off that rubber.
Doubt it. By time he got belt on that Acetone would be dry. Only time I ever saw something like that was if someone left belt on over a whole summer and it corroded/Stuck to the clutch. Left that same pattern of the belt on faces.

He had enough acetone to dissolve the paint on the spring. Anyways I am out on this one, use acetone where rubber and plastic or not your call.
Not saying thats what happened to him. Just never seen something like that!
