Bought a used 08' mtx 153. Lugs have been cut to 1.25. Looking to put deep lug track on. Is the stock track ok or should i try something else? Thanks.

Stock track is a Maverick. Stay as far away from another as possible. You will get a lot of guys saying Camoplast Challenger Extreme 2.5" There are a few good tracks out there. Any Arctic Cat track will fit. Power Claw, Challenger, Attack 20. I have a Attack 20 that has been straightened and think it works well. Not many will agree but it works for me. It all depends on how much $ you want to spend.

i put a new arctic cat challenger 2.25 on last year and think it works well. the maverick is too soft for most peoples liking. challenger extreme is good, but you can get some cheaper arctic cat tracks as well, plus i like the 2.25 a little better as i am a flatlander.

I installed the Peak mid winter and had 3 rides on it.

I do need more time on it to give an overall opinion. But i will say it does dig in harder and brings the skis up. So far so good.

I have a boosted sled though, not sure on a n/a sled.

Has anyone tried the Peak track yet? Tracks USA has it for $680 and it's a 3.0 pitch. I need a replacement- any one have comments........

You already have the 2.86" drivers don't you Sledboy?

I think the 163" Peak would be a nice option for you after riding Sonds' sled.

My peak with one season on it is in horrible condition. I'd go back to CE if I were to buy a new one.

I do, but after this season the Wahl drivers are pretty shot. Just was not happy with the 16" wide set up and the drivers did not hold as expected. Thought about going back to 3.0 with Avid drivers and a new 15" track.

My Peak held up fine??

I can most definitly say that I am not as hard on my stuff as Ricky is though, and he has done a lot more riding than I have.

I know the snow conditions around home and outwest were not good this past season. I chewed up my track outwest in good snow. I have heard AK had a great winter so whats up? Sonds did you even ride? :moon:

Yeah it was not from hitting stuff, it's where the stiff lugs meet the soft lugs. It has torn them all on both sides. Very uniform making it fairly clear it's from design/build not abuse. The other scary part is I have a few lugs completely cracked at the base. Looking like it with throw whole lugs. The track has been swapped for a screwed race track to finish out the season and they are suposed to look at it for warranty.
