What riser are you running? Cable extensions?

i have the stock riser with a 3in powermadd pivot riser on top of it. u can pivot the handlebars all u want, no extensions needed, and its only one piece instead of buying 2 about $50

From what I have read on their site, there is no need to remove any cables or extend them with this install. Can I assume it was very easy to do?

Did you actually put it on top of the factory riser, or on the bottom? Did your factory clamp pad go back on after the install?

I'm probably 6'2" and it would be nice to have just a bit more height, but not crazy enough to need extensions. This sounds like a good fit.

Do you have pics?

Thanks so much!
i dont have any pics sled is at the dealer still getting fixed yes very simple i put it on top im pretty sure it wont work on bottom because the bolts on stock riser go all the way threw the riser to the bottom. yes pad fits and im 6'4 and its perfect

I just installed the Powermadd 325 riser on my phazer tonight... it's the one in the link above. I'm pretty happy with it but I won't know for sure until I ride with it tomorrow. I was able to mount the riser up with the stock cables. However, my throttle cable was routed over the handlebar so I had to re-route it under the bars.

yea the guy before me had a rox 2in riser and i think he moved the throtle cable and when i got the sled i took the powermadd riser off my ds650 because i thought it was a 2in but when i went to get a new riser for my fourwheeler it came up in the computer that i had gotten a 3 i was surprised a 3 fit on the phazer with out extensions

I put on the PowerMadd 2" riser yesterday. Pretty easy install and what a difference! I set it so the bars are more toward the front. Removing the throttle cable is easy and just route it under the bars. The amount of pressure it reduces on your shoulders is amazing. You can see the bolts on the top of the stock riser where it mounts in this pic. Highly recommended for anyone between 5'9" and 6' tall.

So I purchased the PowerMadd 3" Pivot Riser and thought I would go drop it in just before a ride. Well, that was a mistake.

It looks like all the cables except the throttle are long enough to make it. My luck I cut the one zip tie to loosen the cables and put in the riser. It pulled the speedo cable too much and then I was getting the Code 84 TORS error. Crap, and I was supposed to leave on a trip in the morning.

So rather than try the re-route or adjust tension, I pulled it out and put it back to stock. I have not adjusted the throttle tension and I am getting the code 84 when I let off the gas really fast. It resets with a power cycle with the key, but it is unsafe.

To get that TORS calibrated, is it pretty much throttle cable adjustment? I know I don't have the proper slack as recommended in the service manual.

So, the cable length with pivot riser is fine, but I need to reroute it under the bar? So I should do the disconnect at the "fun-flipper" end?

Sorry for the silly questions guys, I don't rip into these too much. But your advice is golden to me.

Thank you!

Yup, to get the cable routed underneath the bars you have to seperate the two halves of the throttle mount. Loosen the philips head screws so you can pivot the flipper and look at the bottom. There is a circlip that will allow you to remove the pivot and then remove the cable from the flipper. BE CAREFULL! There are nylon washers and spacers that will fall out as soon as you remove the circlip so pay attention and note where everything goes. Once you have the end of the cable removed from the flipper itself you should be able to remove the two philips screws and seperate the two halves and then reposition the cable under the bars. I did not remove the cable from the housing on the bar.... not sure what's in there and didn't need to do it. Only removed the barrel at the end of the cable from where it attaches to the flipper. Hope that helps you out and good luck.

Removing the cable from the bar housing is pretty easy. All you need to do is take the side cover plate off the left side of the housing. Once removed, there's a small phillips screw you need to take out that holds a metal throttle clip in place. Once this is removed and the throttle cable is removed from the "flipper" you just need to extend the throttle cable and feed it through the gab in the plastic. Very easy!!

I got a pazer mountain with 2" powermadd pivot risers. I like it but im 6'2" and could really use at least 2" more to get it just right when im out playing around, but its perfect right now for trail riding and thats what i spend most of my time doing. My cables are all the further streched that I feel comfortable with, it will through a code once in a great while at full turn and not let me move so I gota turn off and on to get going again. Are there any adjustable risers out there that would work good for me 2"-4"? Im gona start looking, and where should I get cable extentions from?

Thanks
Joe

thanks, I like those rox risers, actually my cousin got some for his apex just the other night there pretty sweet! Mine is a mountain, do you mean apex cables? what about brake line? I see power madd has extention for about $25 that dont look too bad.

Thanks
Joe
