looking to see what you guys have done to bring a compact crazy carpet and how you made holes to tie to sled track if some one blows one.? any ideas? thanks
I was on a trip last year breaking trail and a 800 cat blew his diamond drive 100 km from either end of the trail, We used the 2 hand holes on the carpet and tied it with nylon rope to the front on the track and around the rail tips to make sure that the track wouldn't try to turn if the fresh snow got too deep and then we made one hole on each side of the carpet midway down the slide rails and another set off holes near the end on the carpet. These were tied to the rails again and then the machine was towed home the 100km with the driver on the machine trying to help with steering the sled. The towed sled bumped more than a couple of snowbanks and don't forget there's no brakes either. Have heard of tie wraps doing a good job as mentioned by maim.
