So my buddy snapped his driveshaft on his 04 warrior which had original miles of 13k miles. My sled, an 04 warrior too with 14k miles has me wondering if should replace it due to mileage. What are other people doing?? Thanks

I didn't know this was a maintenance item - so I guess with 16,000Km on my VL it is time to change. What about the jackshaft bearing?

Yeah I read about doing it, but haven't did it. With just shy of 15,000 mile I should seriously think of it. What kind of damage did your friends sled have after it broke.

26500 km for me on the phazer on original driveshaft and bearings, the 80 hp doesnt have enough power to snap driveshafts imo

pat the rat,

I've never really noticed, but you must own some Yamaha stock somewhere by looking at your signature. Nice stuff!

we were cruising a lake at 65ish and bang I saw sparks under his belly pan. thought it was the chain as when we revved it there was nothing. got it back home and its a super clean shear just behind the chain case and the shaft peices were just spinning against eachother. crazy...

do most guys go oem for a new one or is there a better product?? who sells here??

Thanks..was or is this common? My sled has easy miles on it. My buddies had been really hard by previous owner. Just wondering if I should run it because this did not happen to a lot of people.

Took mine apart today and it was clean brake like if you cut it with a knife. It looked like it had cracked a while ago because of rust on the break. It could have been scary if this had let go at high speeds!!!

Sure feels that way,if you add them all up,its around $70 000 cdn, ouch,i have to remove the phazer, its sold, but a new venture is on the way

My first apex I changed it at 17000 hard driven miles, just so I wouldn't be stranded.
Last year I bought an other apex with 7200 easy miles and it broke at about 8000.
It seems they can just break at will.
