Where do you like your limiter straps set?

Trxster, Pulling in all the way on your front straps will plant the skis rather than allowing the front to lift while climbing. This is good for trail handling as long as you don't mind the extra effort needed to turn the skis but it will cause the front to tunnel through the snow rather than lift while accelrating and plane on top of the snow.[/quote]

I pulled them in to offset the lack of sway bar. Let them out today just to try it and holy crap!!! I was all over the place! I think I am going to go back to +1 on center, 0 on back, and middle of the limiter strap. I think I got spoiled riding my wife's vector this last week. So smooth in the bumps.

Trxter,

What do you have for front spring preload? I have my front shocks set to max preload just because I like to do jumps and drops occasionally and and need the extra preload to keep from bottoming out while landing. That could be the reason I get away with the limiter straps let out all the way.

Frosty,

I can't help you with the ratcheting problem. Mine doesn't ratchet with the setup I have with the track tightened to Yamaha specs. I know this skid wasn't designed for being uncoupled but so far I have been lucky.

I too ride the trail alot (about 35-40%). That's why I'm on my second(about to be third) set of hyfax in 1600 miles. I just felt that the negative (hardly any once used to it) on the trail was far less than the positive in the powder.

I have PP straigt rate 2.3k springs with minimum preload. However, I was up at revy a few weeks ago climbing my brains out and with the limiter in the middle hole (mpi) it didn't try to dive. I do believe the bad performance I saw today was from too much preload on the center shock. I am going to back it down to +1 or 0 and see how that behaves.
