I have the osp adjuster. It works like it's supposed to.

Here's the problem. The threads go bad on the adjuster after a lot of use. My adjuster worked the first year fine but the second year it seized up. The threads roll over. I believed ita caused by the nylon black washer rolling up and down the threads.

I think this issue will happen on any aluminum adjuster

Does this keep the belt in constant correct deflection in the secondary.

I remember Sj saying that belt deflection is not all that important, that it makes little difference overall. Maybe? Maybe not?? I don't know either way.

Yes it should still float fine. That's the Beauty of floating clutches.
 
I am curious as to what people say too. Maybe I can incorporate feedback into the final design of one I am making.

One thing that I notice on both those designs is there is a washer that floats. My current design has no floating washers.

I guess I was meaning...does this adjuster do what the cat boss secondary does, which is keep the belt always riding up where it should be in the secondary at all times??

I realize the Sidewinder has floating clutches, but the secondary doesn't adjust automatically like the Cat secondary supposedly does..is that correct??

Very interesting. I am by no means putting down osp thunder hurricane td or anyone that makes adjusters.
But from my experience the adjusters are very nice for keeping up with belt wear . But there down falls are the threads rolling from either the floating washer or small thin washer added for belt removal and the allen head bolt stripping.

I would love to see an adjuster that you don't need to use the Allen key to turn the nut. It always ends up slipping out.

Over my head brother. I'm not up to date on cat clutching.
The secondary is always changing during operation. So I don't know what you mean by automatically adjust.

To change belt do you actually put the screw in and run it in or do you just spin the adjuster nut with the allen wrench in the clamp bolt?

The version I have does not have a bolt to push the clutch apart. You have to run the nut in.

The ones with the bolt have a thin washer to push against. It's does the same thing and rolls the threads during long term operation.
 
I used anti sieze on mine from day 1. 10000 mi on sled probably 8000 on adjuster and it still works great. I don’t ever use it for removing belt since it’s easy enough just doing it by hand. Joe are you saying the threads are rubbing the clutch? Maybe OSP made later ones bigger dia cause mine doesn’t rub at all.

No you still adjust for deflection by hand.

Happened to my TP adjuster. I just cleaned with lite wire wheel and little oil and it loosed up fine.

No. I don't think they are rubbing the clutch, when the clutch floats the nylon washer is free to move on the threads.

It's just my geusse why the threads rollled like they did.
I had to change the belt last year up north. When I tried to change it the nut seized After trying to adjust the new belt. That's when i found the rolled threads.

Again I think the adjuster is a great idea for belt life and a very good product other then this problem.
