I have a LOT of buddies now with Winders and most all of them are running or gone back to the tuner skis. Some just added a square carbide bar to the inside. It seems they push less in the corners than I do with the Pilots.
They all like them. They claim no push or darting. I know the one I rode a few years ago had the stock Tuners on and I also didn't notice any darting or pushing. I know a lot of it is conditions too but I thought they behaved really nicely.
Just curious because I see many pictures posted where MANY are running the tuners. I may go and bolt them on mine just to see how good or bad they really are. I actually have never ran them myself on my machine.
One of my hard charging friends swapped back from the pilots and likes the tuners, which says a lot.

I'm afraid to admit this after all the negative reviews on tuners, but I have ran them with sno trackers since day one , and never regretted it.

Mine are collecting dust in the garage. I have had really good luck with my pilot 5.7s after dialing the suspension in. My last adjustment of tightening the limiter strap one hole made them really predictable, flat cornering and not much dart or push!
That being said I tried everything to make my tuners handle well in all conditions . I tried ace bars on the inside, dual ace bars, excessive weight on the skis through decreased center spring preload and stiffer ski spring preload and they would still push badly. They would also dart badly with these suspension settings. Take some weight off the front end and they would push so bad it was dangerous! I could never find a happy medium until I went with the pilot 5.7s.
I also see some people are using them and would like to know how they dialed them in. It can’t hurt to try them and let us know your findings. You are a well respected tuner around here so maybe you can help out the guys who don’t want to change their skis.

I've been considering giving them another shot with snowtrackers.

I have snow trackers with about 1/2 to 3/4 preload on straight rate centre spring works great . Can take hand off handle bars to adjust helmet or hand signals no problem. No darting. (Yamaha should be selling these with the sled )

Not a snowtracker guy but i have tried all of them and the single best performing ski for the winder imo is the pilot r. Not 5.7 nor 6.9.

I run tuners still. 4 inch qualipieces top gold square carbides, 4 of them. They still push a bit in certain conditions, but zero darting, sometimes they like to follow other tuners or pilots a little bit, and super light steering effort.
Ive been telling people that Pilots are almost the same as tuners. They both don't dart, have easy steering but will push in loose snow.
I also have a 129

Worst ski every made. I just gave a pair away because I refused to even sell those abominations to anyone. I would have felt guilty. They dont dart, but they also dont turn at all in any kind of loose snow, they stick to the ground when youre stopped, they are ridiculously heavy and to top it all off, that stupid skate blade underneath them caught a tree root and bent an a arm on my nytro.

I never even tried my tuners based on what I read on this site. What does a set of snotrackers run $?

I’m running them on my winder, no darting, yes they don’t turn great in the POW, I ride trail though and the ski was designed for hard packed trail riding not loose snow

I ran them for a year on my turbo viper. Never could get them dialed in. Either steered to hard or would push at random times where they would scare me. I was running shaper bars at the end and still couldn't make them predictable. I always hated the pilots on my doos so never considered them on the sidewinder. I now run curves with slim jims and couldn't be happier.
