Anyone running 10-12 #'s with thick headgasket and 92 octane?
I am. Have an mcx rear mount, set a t 8lbs for trail and 12 for fast.

How many miles with your set-up? I was hoping to get away with 10-12 #'s of boost, thick head gasket and super unleaded (92 octane). It sounds like it can be done. Have you had any problems with this?

J.

I have just under 5000 miles on sled, 2700 at 10 lb boost the rest with boost switch and 2 stage boost. 10 lb was too much for trail, even 8 lbs is too much but once you ride it with more, its hard to settle for less. Ran couple of times with race fuel mix and 15 lb boost on the lake. Had to kick some serious a$$. Motor has had no problems and does not burn any oil. ;)! :4STroke:

love the videos phil... keep them coming...

11lbs,92-94 octane all year long, sometimes I add a gallon or 2 of race nfuel for 13lb's or so,also tried straight race fuel at the drags and 17lb's boost but had to turn it down cause I was spinning to bad aqnd bouncing off the rev limiter. Johny you will find that 10 is usually waaayyy more then enough in the mountains!

I am sure I will not need much more than 10#'s. I am definately feeling more comfortable about running 10#'s with just the thicker gasket. Thanks for all the info.

Does any one run straight 100ll av gas? I don't have extra gaskets or pistons but I bought a barrel of av gas and would appreciate some ideas on how much boost I can run safely at 3000-6000 ft.

I have heard AV gas is not the best 2nd to it not being leaded. You might was to put some lead additive in there to be safe.

Time for some straps and glue!

Does anyone have a hp chart based on boost levels?

Depends on which turbo and compressor you are running.

When it comes to boost, not all boost is created equal... depending on your system hp per lb of boost can vary... lbs of boost measures air in, does not reflect what is coming out.. in testing some hp did vary 30 hp from best set up to worst... when you here people quote lbs of boost, keep in mind "range" or give or take 20-30 hp
Also keep in mind all guages are not created equal... from what i have seen, 1-3 lbs varience is not uncommon..... now where are you measuring ? behind, infront of the carb, charge tube,? all will give you different numbers.... after all is said and done, 13-15lbs with a rx1 just plain rocks..

Haller, what elevation do you ride at? Also do you have a part # for your air filter? Mine is so big that I cant run my headlights.

Usually around 4000 ft I still use the filter that came with my kit (2 nd one) It's still hanging in there ( barely) ....... I usually ride the sled with the bender unit on it in the mountains , the warrior is a trail sled....

I use 100 percent 100LL in both
