If you have never rode in the mountains this is one of those things you must do before you depart this world. It was an epic day of riding. Some pics for the day. Elevation was around 8,000'. I did get a little to confident and rolled the sled on a high mark. I was luck that the handlebars manage to anchor the sled. I ended up flipping it back over and get back on before it was a run away down the hill. It was one of the most exhausting things I've ever done. It's so hard to work at 8,000'.

If you look in the center of the pic you can see the spot where I got stuck and had to roll the sled. It was a bad area to get stuck because it was an avalanche danger zone.

High mark for the Phazer. I did all the tracks you see in the pic.

Panorama Basin

Going again tomorrow in a different location. I'll post pics tomorow.

Not bad for a 60ish HP sled at that altitude! I got stuck a few times playing in the hills of the UP this weekend, dang trees

This is a better pic of the Phazer high marks. Is hard to how steep the slopes are but this pic comes close. All those tracks were made by the Phazer.

Pitcures or video never do the challenging terrain justice. Always looks so easy, meanwhile, it STEEP!!!

Awesome shots Ruggy, glad to hear your having a blast!! Day 1 worries are done....ride it like you don't feel like towing it home.
:die

I had another epic ride today. Climber to an elevation of 8,500'. I did get stuck twice and rolled it over once.

On top of the world. This is the highest point in this mountain range. Excuse my language but it took balls to get the Phazer up there. My riding partner was on a Summit 800 with a 3" paddle and 174 track with T motion. Incredibly scary going down.

Heading down.

The day before there had been an avalanche in the area we were in which killed one and critically injured another. Today we saw the helicopter that was used to retrieve his sled. This happened at Quartz Creek near Golden BC.

We took no chances and I was wearing a avalanche pack that has a shovel, probe and has built in flotation. Pull the red handle in case of emergency. Under my main jacket I also wore a beacon.

Lots of people out today.

One of the last tracks to get to the summit. It's a lot steeper than it looks but not the steepest climb I did.

Awesome! We went to Wyoming in mid January. You are right though, it's definitely something you need to do in your lifetime. Where abouts are you guys riding at?

I'm a Toyota Tech and had to take training in Calagary AB. Toyota paid for my fuel and lodging so I decided to sled for the weekend. Saturday was Pamarama BC the Sunday was Quartz Creek near Golden BC.

That looks like an awesome day, I can hardly wait for my day to come. Also, I am in the process of collecting parts to extend my 121.

Well not really that stock. It started life as a FX 121 and now it's a Frankistiened 144 with 9 tooth drives and reverse secondary. I've had this sled down to the tunnel.
I meant engine wise, no turbo, etc! Impressive!
