Why C&A Pro Skis?

:?: I am curious why a lot of people are recommending the C&A Pro ski. I have no experience with them, so I am interested in hearing what aspects you liked about these skis compared to the others including the dual runner models. One of the trade magazines did an article on after market skis last year and the C&A Pro ski finished last. Granted the tests were done on a Cat, but I remember the results saying the Cat stock ski did better than the C&A. So what am I missing?

compared to the stock yammi skiis, I've found them to hold better in the corners, float better in powder, and track better on rough trails. They also wear better from the occasional rock that gets hit. 8)

Early season riding on railroad tracks chewed up the sides of the stock skiis pretty good on my buddy's sled, while my c&a's didn't show any damage.

I've already got a pair to put on my warrior. If you watch for deals, you can get them pretty cheap.

So we know who is ugly, but what about the skis?

Monker, have ridden any of the other aftermarket skis are only C&A Pro's?

The only one's I've tried are the C&A's. I found them to work really well for the riding I do so haven't really looked at others. Of the guys I ride with (3 yammis and a 800 poo) we've all got them and are pleased with the performance.

Suisse Sledder, I had a long talk yesterday with the guys at Mountain Performance about this very topic. Heres the lowdown according to them. C&A Pro are the best trail ski available. They react faster than the stock skis and also float better in the deeper snows. The Simons Flex Skis are the best Powder Skis although the SLP Powder Pros are also nice. All of Mountain Performance test sleds are Yamahas. Since their testing, they have droped the SLP Powder Pro line and settled on the Simons for the Mountains. He said if they were to recommend a trail ski for Yamaha, it would be C&A Pro. I agree they dont look the best, but they do work. I rode jtssrx's RX-1 last year in Munising and he had C&A's and you really can tell a difference, so they are on my sled this year.

There is a guy at Snowest.com that goes by the name of KingCat who is part owner of C&A who has the trail skis for sale for $150 US, which included Skis, Mounting hardware and US Shipping. That is a great deal. His email is snowx99@aol.com if interested. Hope this helps. Good Luck...BBY

C&A is going out of business from what I hear. Try calling the company and no one ever answers, so you may want to get these skis fast if you can still get them! There will be a new ski out on the market this fall that will be nothing seen before also.

the c,a's are great skis though i use them on my sleds.they turn like right now when you want and float better then stock and if they can take a beating like i give them their good.rich

rich, if we're talking about the same ski, then yes, i know about it too!!! one of the guys who's helping design it lives about 40 miles from me and i saw him this weekend at our races. also c&a has a factory in madison, sd which is only about 60 miles from me and i can still get skis from them if anyone wants some. if i got a large enough order i could get quite a few at a discount price probably.

C&A's

I have run the pro trail ski's my Viper for two years and I think they are awesome. Great bite, limited darting and good floatation. If a guy is looking for a ski with no wash in the turns this is it. I also happen to like how they look...they look tough.
