Wifes Nytro let us down!

I better go buy a skidoo now. I never realized the issues Yamaha has. Not to call you out but you said your wife had went 105 miles and you put almost 7 gallons in it. Looks like you had about a gallon left which would put you at or over 120 miles on a tank. The low fuel lights come on early I have gone 30 plus miles with mine on. They tell you when your getting low not when your empty. By the way you don't even want to get us started on skidoo issues, I have friends that ride skidoos and I could write a book on there issues.

everybody out there is riding a ticking time bomb

This statement is true. No matter what sled you ride or what brand it is a ticking time bomb. Thing is when you single out the nytro, it is a bash and it does stir the pot. I have had far more trips ruined by AC Pol and Doo than any of my Yamahas. I you hate it that much, trade it, end of story. Maxdlx

I perform all the proper preventative maintenance on all my sleds .
Except for the wiring harness bullitin?? You wouldnt be fighting with Yamaha USA if you would have taken care of this before heading up on such a long Canadian trip.
Im sure there are areas where the Doo is a better sled then the Nytro, but I will say the opposite stands true also.

Had to get my .02 cents in before this thread get "DogPiled"! ;):D

I guess I don't spend enough time on TY to get all the updates on stuff for my sleds. I caught all the other stuff like new skis and ball joints and A arm bushings and bent sub frames and crappy handwarmers and driveshaft bearings and leaking chaincase gaskets and crappy suspension wheels and defective grease zerks and frozen relays and crappy exhaust donuts... I guess I just missed the wire harness bullitin :o|

LMAO NOW YOUR STARTING TO SOUND LIKE A DODGE STARTER! :jump: :yam: :rules

jds1000 you are just making my point again and again. I take up tools when the sleds are new. Hell half the time thats when you need them most. First year sleds are always a problem, but every new sled will have problems too. The dealer that sets it up is not going to put on 500 mi to make sure everything is tight, working etc. If they did you would just bitch about it not being new with 500 miles. I don't sit on a lake and go top speed all day and I don't snooze through the trails for 5 hours and call it a great day of touring. I ride and ride hard. Off trail during the day and crazy (Rally car) twisties during the night. If you don't take tools you are either a fool or not a real snowmobiler. I did not say I used them every trip but I have them for me and anyone that is with me. So go rent the beat-up crap that the ski-doo rental shops and bust out your satellite phone to call when it breaks down. Maybe paint it pink and put little tassels on it too so that you can show the rest of us riding by who you are. I have 3500 miles on my xtx and not a major problem yet. I did replace the heated grips, and well you know I did not bitch about it either. A situation like that in your eyes might mean trade in time or just a total brand switch. My biggest problem is going to be what to use the engine and clutch for when it outlives the body it was given. Maybe I’ll put it in a golf cart, that way when the wire shorts out I can get on here and bitch about how my picnic with my family was totally ruined due to lack of forward movement.

DONT DP its funny what this guy did, For example he ran into and NAACP Meetting Dressed Up As Klansmen hahaha WOOUDLNT TRADE MY NYTRO FOR ANY SLED OUT THERE

I'm trying REAL hard not to DP this.....

Sorry Crewchief, I don't want to turn TY into DooTalk. These guys got me all wrong. I don't hate Yamahas, I have two but happen to like my Apex more than the Nytro. I can't get rid of the Nytro because my wife would castrate me! Everything I have mentioned about the Nytro has been brought up many times before by members here. I think I'm getting attacked for it is because I also own a Doo that I happen to like very much. Next season my wife will still be riding her Nytro and I will still have my Apex. I'm still a Yamaha enthusiast and I don't think that I should be considered an outsider just because I also own a couple SkiDoos. Thats how I was treated on DooTalk. Even though I still owned two SkiDoos back in 06 they treated me like an outsider because I also owned a Yamaha Apex. Everything I posted about my Doos were considered a bash because of owning a Yamaha.

Sorry Kane but I read one sentence and started to fall asleep. You need to get to the point faster and stop writing novels!

JDS let me try to make sense of this for you. What Kane is saying is that he is awesome and you are not. there...i think that pretty much sums it up. i know it doesn't mean anything to anyone but i have ridden with jds a bunch of times and if i was a betting man i would say he had tools with him, he did used to ride cat you know? now i am not Mr. Goodwrench but i can find my way around the garage and i'm curious to know what "tool" would have prevented a wire that rubbed through? i would bet he had some ball bearings and 3 in 1 oil in his pocket...it's all ball bearings these days.

My girlfriend's new polaris had a wire rub through this year too. It didn't leave her, just sent 22 volts through the system and blew all her lights. Good thing it wasn't after dark when it happened. They put in a new stator, wiring harness and voltage regulator. All sleds have problems. As far as the size of the tank on the nytro, I can go farther on my nytro than I can on my polaris with a 11 gallon tank.

Well the Nytro is on the podium I think that says volumes for the sled! If it was that bad of a sled to ride it would not be there period.

Your Nytro may go further than a Polaris with a large tank but were talking real snowmobiles here so Poos don't count. :die
