Need some help!! I have a blown motor in my 15 Viper, I have a line on a 09 Nytro motor, I know it’s the same motor but will it work in the viper? Thought there was a post on this already but can’t find anything. Thanks

It'll drop in, grizz did this along with the yamaha electronics. Dropped right in, the engine did. Hopefully he chimes in

it fits, i had nytro engine in mine first year 2016 becasue i had turbo.

Engine itself is identical. Plug and play. When Grizz and I did the "Viper glider build" we had no wiring harness so he modified the Nytro harness to fit the Viper chassis and all it's components. Your's will be a simple engine swap.

Thanks!

The viper engine has two oil pressure sensors located on a bracket by the oil filter. The Nytro engine only has one and does not have the holes tapped in the block to mount the bracket. You will need to get a T fitting to mount the two sensors in the factory Nytro spot. I am currently going through this right now.

I have also thought of relocating the second oil press sensor to the port on the front of the head.

Any input on this? I have a line on a reasonably priced used 2016 Viper with a MPI turbo and blown motor, and another line on a used Nytro engine. Just looking to see if it's a worth while project.

I saw your thread but only can get my hands on the Nytro engine from a wreck, no electronics.
The oil pressure sensors is what I was more concerned about, if someone had come up with a solution that worked to incorporate that 2nd switch. If the headache is even worth it or should I see if I can find a Viper motor...

Someone did it awhile back but I can't find the thread. If I remember right he installed a Tee fitting for both sensors but the problem was finding a Tee with compatible threads. The sensors are not pipe thread, they seal with an o-ring. I think he might have had the Tee fitting made or maybe he finally found one. This wouldn't be an issue for me and I wouldn't hesitate to install a Nytro motor in a Viper if the price was right or that's the only motor I could find.

Ok, will have to weigh that out. So the Viper harness (other than oil pressure switch and sensor) will plug into the other sensors on the Nytro engine?

Yes, it'll all plug in. You'll just need to remove the two oil sensors off the old viper motor and install them with a Tee to the Nytro block.

OK, I'm armed with data now to make a good decision. I will go look at the engine first to make sure it's worth the trouble now versus going out and buying a used Viper engine. I would be a backup sled anyhow.
Thanks guys
