Will the TORS work with CR10EK's?

Anyone know if having the CR10EK's will cause the TORS not work?

The TORS is activated by a switch checking resistance in the throttle block assembly. Spark plugs have no affect on TORS.

Sorry to push the issue, but the manual has a statement to insure use of specified plugs or TORS will not work. Section 5-2 What is that for then?

CaptainC, the TORS will function as it is designed to with the CR10EK spark plugs. I'm not sure what the statement in the manual is for exactly.

Don't you think it would be a good idea to talk to Yamaha, and find out why it's in the manual, before changing from the recommended plug?

That is a logical question.

apex yooper, you are more than welcome to contact Yamaha and ask why that statement is in the manual. It has been proven time and time again that the TORS works just fine with the CR10EK plugs. It also has the same statement in the Phazer owners manual and they use a CR9EK plug from the factory.
