Hypersports working with one of their customers has just set a new speed record with a 998 turbo of 236 MPH. This is running stock fuel maps, what I find interesting about this is the fact that yes, its a plane, not a sled but the motor doesn't know the difference. What you see is the byproduct of aerodynamic efficiency vs both aerodynamic and ground coupled drag. Basically, the 998 is losing a lot of energy in driving all of the elements of the snowmobile and the snowmobile itself is creating so much drag that what is left is the average speed of a 998 powered sled. Just an insteresting tidbit which is why I posted in the lounge.
