My experience with my LTX DX is similar except that I only have 500 miles on it. Sunday on a quick burst across the lake, the speedo showed 93, and my GPS showed 93.8 mph. I agree, it is the most fun and most comfortable sled I have ever owned.
Same here....just under 3,000 miles and still the best sled I have ever owned.

4000 miles. Great sled with and without turbo.

3100 happy miles on my 14 LTX SE. It handles and rides great. 97 MPH. There is some top end left in the clutching and sprung a little stiff in the rear. Its been more reliable and way more fun to ride than my 2006 Apex RTX. The Apex I had ,within the first 3000 miles , I had changed exhaust donuts , Y pipes, 2 sets hyfax, all wheels, fuel pump relay, ( 2) ra adjusters and handle bar heaters ( never worked.)
The Viper, I have replaced a broken primary spring and changed the oil.

This is the second season for me on the Viper LTX SE. I love it. I did not buy it because I wanted the fastest or the lightest. I bought it because I demoed one and loved the engine, styling and the handling. I have made changes to my own liking and riding. The more I ride it and the more it breaks in the better I like it. Perhaps stop worrying about beating the guy your riding with and just ride and enjoy it. Guess that is why I buy long tracks. Racing was years ago. Enjoy your new sled.

Great sled!!! Not sure why so many complain about the handling and ride. I have a 2014 LTX-LE and a 2015 RTX-LE and after a couple of adjustments they both handle and ride great. Just remember that it is NOT an 800 class sled!! With a few mods and some clutching it will definitely hang with 800's though. Only complaint would be that with the stock windshield it is a cold sled, but who would ever think that it would be warm with that small of a screen anyway...

I wouldnt be worried at all! Here's a youtube video of my father on his LTX SE 600miles on it. Only modifications done at the time of the video were Ulmer Racing Clutch Kit & OSP race can. And his speedo was reading 104mph

My le before mods could hit 93-95 1 1/4 track not to bad but needed clutching and exhaust anyway but that's just me.

I have 500 miles on my ltx DX. And I love it. I'd like to bring up the limiter straps one notch to slightly improve handling. It does hit rev limiter to I may do ulmer clutch in off season. And I may have a problem with my thumb warmer. But I wouldn't do anything until sled is broke in. And I think I could still be perfectly happy with this sled not clutching it, but I got a little extra coin to play with. This thing really came to life during and after break in. I mean I could really feel it come to life over the first couple hundred miles. If I have any advise break it in hard, using motoman (mototuneusa.com) break in method not what the manual says. I think the break in is part of what's making some of these sleds fast and slow. I broke mine in hard acceleration and hard deceleration for the first 20 miles and then tried to keep that going for the next 30. Since then I have just been riding it hard and I am seeing low 90's.

You may be right wasn't to gentle breaking mine in either, I was close to your method. Kind off odd some only get 85 or so.

Girlfriend broke hers in very easy, at least when I was not on it. Mine I hammered from day one and they are about the same power wise.
