XTX clutching

Thanks 170plus,

Actually, I have your thread bookmarked in my favorites. Thus far I have changed to the 2.44 rivets, secondary wrap to 60, ulmer windage plates and have the B-P-B spring, just not installed.

I was just curious as to the benefit, if any, of using the 15mm rollers along with the above setup. I have a lot to learn about clutching. I bought my first rideable sled last year (before that just old arctic cat field bombs), then purchased the XTX this year. So far it's been tons of fun, and I've learned alot tweaking the suspension and steering. Still have a ways to go though.

Thanks again

Nate, is that you?
Just wondering how the xtx is handling since you have had some time on it? Ever get the saddles done for the powder pros? By the way, Ive tried multiple helixes on our xtx and cant find anything that works better than stock at 60 deg wrap with stock weights. Anything steeper than the stock 43 deg pulls rpms down too far in most conditions.

In which position should the 2,44 weights be ? Inner, middle or tipp?
In the inner hole, closest to the pivot point of the weight.

Hi Jon,

Yes, it's me. I have made some further adjustments, changing my comp/rebound. Just started turning the knob a click or 2 to see what the effect would be. Also dropped the spring preload on the front and center shocks some more. I haven't touched the rear shock yet. I turned 1400 on the odo last night. Went from Sherman, Shind Pond, Ashland, P.I., and Back through Littleton and home to Sherman again. Overall the trails were great, especially the fields and power lines around P.I. Did come across a lot of studder bumps though. Maybe I don't have the sled adjusted right still, but the studder bumps were terrible.

Concerning the saddles, I have been working when time permits on revising the design before I cut any more material. I found that the prototype I made fit one ski perfectly, but was too wide for the other ski. This means I will have to either thin the sidewalls down further, or make an undercut where the saddle fits into the ski. Hoping that by the end of next week I can start machining up a set based on the new design. I will let you know.

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread.

Thanks,
Nate
