I have a dumb question I hope someone can answer, if the rear shock blows out or looses all of its pressure, will the rear end of sled collapse or will the sled still be ridable, but without the dampning???

It will still be ridable, but not much fun to ride, and it'll be bottoming out all the time, and rebounding really fast. But in a pinch, you can still ride the sled.

Re: shock
It's roughly 11" compressed, 17" extended, with 8mm eyes on both ends.
Kimpex has a hydraulic and a gas shock that should work, though they are about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch longer than stock.
