How bout just filling it and putting the cap on, and then that's it..so I don't get the extra gallon in..not a big deal for me. Will the sled vapor lock/not run right if one doesn't burp it??
Lol nope... this is just about getting an extra gallon or two more in... it's all due to the tank designs under the seats and air that gets trapped in...

How about a permanent vent line from back of tank to fill neck?

That's actually not a bad idea... not sure... the idea of adding holes doubt appeal to me... the super full or dans would bee safer than risking a leak...

yeah you did not read mine at all obviously...hahaRead the post Dan... cap goes back on first... never a drop..
Just a super fill... pushing on there rear with the cap off would have a greater chance of fuel on the seat...just common sense
re-read mine and it will answer your repeated theory.

I never put the cap back on when burping either my Doo's or my SW. If you want the most fuel in the tank burp it with the cap OFF. Unless you have no control on how fast you push down on the bumper never the seat. Push down on the seat and fuel will be all over.

Yeah same as we all have been doing for awhile....Burping with cap on defeats purpose, since the air cannot escape quickly out of the filler hole if a cap is on....sorta a no brainer, but I what people struggle with this all the time..lolI never put the cap back on when burping either my Doo's or my SW. Ok, so Yamaha spec'd out fuel capacity at 10gal last year. And just arbitrarily changed the spec to 8.9gal. and explaining "fuel tank burping" come on!!!

It's all good... each to their own... works for us .... let's just say there is more than one way to skin the cat... just like clutching... studding ... etc

We usually take turns fueling, this way your riding buddy pushes the bumper down while filling, this way air never gets trapped in the back of the tank, less splashing this way.

Its always really fast, and a good full burp when bud slams her down and you can keep flowing....You get a real serious fill for sure that way.....We do that alot when we know we are heading further and all need as much distance as we can get!We usually take turns fueling, this way your riding buddy pushes the bumper down while filling, this way air never gets trapped in the back of the tank, less splashing this way.

We have burped the sleds and sometimes start them for 5 seconds both will let you add extra fuel

I believe the winder/cat tank has less of an 'uprise' at the rear of tank. When seats are removed on a XS/XR/XP Doo, and also our cat chassie, the doo tank looks to rise higher when using a "level". So I think the doo is in need of a real knee down on bumper moreso, as more air sits in that rear tail section. We have burped the sleds and sometimes start them for 5 seconds both will let you add extra fuel
Always made me laugh in 2012 when the cats came out, and we found out we had to burp them too(like the doos) and all along cat was trying to say they did not steal any design from BRP....haha. Man they have alot of similarities!
