I have a very close friend who just bought a 04 Warrior off another close friend, and he told him that all that needed to be fixed on the sled was the seat, the flat area where the raised part begins at the back looks like it has something trying to poke through it. My friend decides to take it (just the seat)up to Hackers since we are all in the Houghton Lk area and we all deal with them. I believe he talked to Jerry and he told him that it should be a warranty issue and should be taken care of NO PROBLEM. Well that was 3 weeks ago and my friend said to just try and have it done for T.U.T.
Well Hackers got ahold of Yami and they said they want my friend to pay $200.00 for the work, and this is after they said the seat was built wrong from the factory. Needless to say my friend is not to happy with the warranty service of Yamaha. Now, my friend told Yami that he is a huge supporter of their's and he owns a yami outboard on his pontoon, 3 yami waverunners and 3 used yami sled's for his wife and 2 tennage boy's. He has never had an issue with them before and he was hoping that this was not going to be a big problem. So, what I am getting at is that I thought someone on here know's someone at Yamaha that was kind of helping out the guy's on this site, they e-mailed his name to me a couple of years ago, and of course I don't have it now. If anyone can help us out with getting this thing fixed, please let me know.

I just wanted to let you know also that my friend has the $200.00 to get it fixed, but now he say's it's just a matter of principle now. The sled only has 900 miles on it and looks like brand new, and they told him they screwed up from the factory. He also told them that this year Michigan is only going to have 8 weks of riding and they already used up 4 of his.

They will not budge. Whenever Yamaha goes over their dealers to say to charge when the dealer was going for warranty your toast and they will not back down.

Not in my experience. Get the Yamie regional rep involved or call the customer service number and demand that they take care of it.

Sad that you have to go through this hassle...but if you rattle their cage enough...they'll *good will* it...

I would say his issue is with Hackers not Yamaha.

Not sure why they would tell your friend it would be warranty.

The sled is an 04, 2 years old, no warranty by Yamaha left unless it was sold less than a year ago.

My 04 Warrior has a lot more miles than that and the seat is fine.

I do not recall a seat issue with 04 Warriors, 03 RX1's there were some though.

Your other friend told him there was a seat problem, he should get it fixed and stop whining about Yamaha when there is no warranty and start riding his excellent purchase.

They replaced my seat

On my 04, I had the seat cover penetrated from the inside by the frame of the seat (right at the very tail end) The seat had small penetrations after only a few miles. Yamaha replaced mine w/o question. I guess Peacock is a good dealer.

I forgot about this. This is the only repair mine has ever been back in to the shop for.

Lets assume he has a Y.E.S. plan. I have had to use this plan and had no problems - as long as it is not normal wear and tear. If you break a part that is covered you will typically have to pay for labor
