So all of us married guys hear our wives say, "I'm heading to the store, need anything?" And we know it's time for Sled Porn.

Or she says, "I'm going to bed early, stay up as long as you like." And you know, it's time for sled porn.

Hell, the single guys are probably doing this 4-5 times a day. I'm not the only one enjoying it.... this time of year.

That sounded like a kick-back on the viper start up. You have a PC5? Add a little fuel to your start up and low rpms....your engine will thank you.

I appreciate the advice. I heard that as well, and it worried me a bit. But then I reminded myself, this was the very first start up since pulling them off the trailer, and I had yet put a charge on the battery.

Once I did that, she starts like a dream. But I will watch it in case I experience that again. My smart charger was telling me that battery was down to 14% full charge. Both cranked a little slow. But a full charge and they are starting perfect.

I am still impressed at how my Yamaha four strokes start so nice in the fall. Not quite like an Etec, but they never fail.

It sure is nice to sit and listen to them growl. I caught my 16 year taking a selfie with her Viper for Snapchat. She loves that sled.

Fired both of mine today just because.

And what is this wife thing you speak of? :tg:

So it's December 13th, 2017 and we all have the itchy throttle thumb and it needs to be scratched.

So Sam and I take off out of Moorhead and head towards what we think is snow on the snow coverage maps. We head up to Crookston, then on to Red Lake Falls just to find that the previous night's rain left us with a skating rink for a highway and no rideable snow! So Instead of heading to Thief River Falls, we turn the truck around and head to the Bermuda Triangle of snow!

We find dozens of anglers on the lake pre-fishing for the National Panfish tournament this coming weekend. They are reporting 9-11" of ice! WOW! (note the pickup on the ice in the last few seconds!)

So after 250 miles in the truck we actually get in roughly 40 miles on the sled. Side trails were pretty rocky, but the roads had been packed well by the deer hunters over the previous month. And now the main roads were very rideable and a blast. We expect to see more snow over the coming days, and are heading back this weekend! Enjoy!

So we got word that there was 8" of fresh snow. The club also posted photos of the groomer panning the trails.

So we packed up and headed to the Bermuda Triangle of snow. I would have had more video, but within the first 10 miles, I branch ripped the GoPro right off my new helmet. We were lucky to recover the camera before the groomer ran it over. 120 miles on the day, a good lunch at the resort and a few sore muscles.

This clip has no music, as the engine sound, and table top trails is all a guy needs!! And yes, we are doing it all over again tomorrow! Enjoy!

It's December 23rd, 2017. With the upcoming cold weather and family commitments, it made sense to get some more miles in prior to Christmas.

So Dave, Anna and I headed to the woods to go cruise the groomed goodness. As you will see in the video, conditions were excellent, and the snow was coming down hard at times. This may be one of our last rides to this region as other areas have a fair amount of snow now.

We can only hope that grooming will commence throughout this part of the state. It was fun to run into an old friend on the trail and see some traffic once again. Not everyone believes that there is no snow to ride. Watch for more coming soon this week.

So it's been -25f and -20f and it has warmed up to -15f. Jarred, Davey and I wanna go ride. Jarred has had a bucket list item of riding from the Cleem Cave on Little Cormorant up to Pinehurst in Naytahwaush. The snow is good, so we said let's go.

John and Dan wanted to ride with but chose to take off from Charlies on 34 outside of Detroit Lakes. We said we would meet them along the way. We ended up running across Little Cormorant, Big Detroit, Little Bemidji, Elbow Lake, and back on down across those and Many Point Lake, Round Lake, Height of Land Lake, Cotton Lake and back over to DL. A quick stop at Zorbaz to thaw our lips out in a cold beer and we had a quick hop back to Jarreds.

167 miles for the day!

APEX Turns 6000 miles!

Published on Jan 8, 2018

So January 6th, 2018. A new year and new temps. It's supposed to get up to 15f today! WOO WOO.

My good buddy Steve bought himself a new ZR6000 from Dakota Cat and needs to itch it now that it is fresh off the break in period. So along with his brother John, and Nephew Adam, we load up and head East.

We know that most of the clubs have been grooming, but we want to find the honey holes that nobody thinks are groomed yet. Word is out that the Bermuda Triangle is good, so now it's time to dig into the uber secret stashes. I do know that the snow coverage out of Detroit Lakes was rideable, but in need of some TLC as far as snow and grooming. So we are trailing up to Okeson's Off Trail North of DL. This gets us right one the trail.

And after crossing the two lakes, we drop into Mary Yellowhead and Rat Lake trail. All have been double groomed and untouched! They are setup nice. I have not gone that many miles with hardly a rock click. Of course we have to run up to PineHurst for lunch. But then it's off to my favorite super highway. The Anchor road is the South route into Itasca. When groomed it's flat and fast. And it did not disappoint.

We made the annual stop at the headwaters of the Mississippi and up to Lobo's for bump. Then made our way back to Okeson's. 150 miles on the day!

2018 MN Powder Day!
Published on Feb 27, 2018

So it's 2-25-18 and it's trip 15 or something! WHO CARES!!

It's a powder day in Minnesota. And we never get these. In fact, the forecast is for above 30 degrees for the next week, so this will go away almost as fast as it came.

So we rocked the trails from Hawley to Detroit Lakes in near perfect flat light. Trail riding by braille is what we call it. But on the way back, we got the sun to come out and it was GAME ON!!! Drifted ditches, fields of powder and covered lakes.

Amazing day!

I got back into editing my 2017-2018 season. These videos go over better this time of year anyway!

So It's January 27, 2018 and time for a family fun ride. Dave, Jarred and I get the kids out for some miles.

Our good friend Tom comes along for the ride. We head out of Okeson's Off Trail North of Detroit Lakes. We run this route, as we know we have good trails and plenty of lakes to run in case the snow runs thin. We actually had a bit of sun, but mostly light snow as we make our way up through the woods, across Little Bemidji, Elbow Lake and on up to Pinehurst Resort.

Steve joins Dave, Anna and I for a rip on Feburary 17, 2018. We start out cloudy, but roll into Pinehurst Resort with the sun poking through.

After a quick lunch we come out to bluebird skies! We make our way across White Earth State Forest to Hoot Howl Resort for a bump and then back to our drop site, Elbow Lake Store. By the looks of things, we were not the only ones with this great idea!
