Curious about your headlight delete. Did you use a kit or do it yourself? Also did you change the intake to get to that 12lbs figure?

if you weight the hood minus the side panels it weighs 16lbs working right now on a carbon fiber hood that is around 2-3lbs, and yes that would include a intake coming out by the headlight tbd

Alpha 1 suspension is going to save 18lbs? Factory 153" with float 3 rear is what 43lbs? The Alpha is only 25lbs? Total hood weighs 17lbs I think your right the intake and headlight make most of that. Probably more like 10lbs and not 15 though. I think the factory seat is 11lbs so there is room there. I was playing with my apex lightweight hood last night. Its scary close to fitting the SW! Tempted to get the cheap mountain fit hood for apex and hack it up to verify. Just needs the opening by the bars to be cut 4" further forward. It actually is real close to matching up with the side panels.
If you get a carbon one made make 2 please!

I ordered arctic cat ascender hood and headlight delete parts, will make them fit.
Arctic cat states 18 lbs weight reduction with alpha 1, presume track and skid combination. 165 inch track.
Still debating between alphA 1 with 165X3 inch paddles or keep my 162inch skid and put 3.2inch camso track on it, or carbon rails 175 with 3.2 inch paddles

Very cool. It looks stock on the outside. Did you ditch all the air intake stuff I assume and just run with the one above the clutches? Do you still have the plug to remove to remove the hood because the gauge pod is still mounted? I would have to retrofit some sort of LED head light and cut the hood to get the 'eye' look I like. I looked at mountain fit and got confused with the intake options they were talking about LOL.

The gauge pod clipped into the hood, perfect fit, the pod has corners which extend beyond the hood, I used a helmet visor to cover and protect pod. I took out all the stock intake gear, don't need it.Very cool. It looks stock on the outside. Did you ditch all the air intake stuff I assume and just run with the one above the clutches? I will mount a six inch LED light on the hood still shopping for one. The Arctic cat hood has a large nose piece which I cut off. otherwise a perfect fit. The wiring harness for the pod key and Aux power remains the same and clips off when you take the hood off.

I have a Sidewinder MTX 162 that i am doing a belt drive on here as soon as parts show up in the mail. As of now the plan is to convert the chaincase to cat splines using BD-Xtreme's change-over Yamaha to cat jackshaft then i have a 26 top gear and 66 bottom gear coming from TKI as well as their tensioner for a 2018 arctic cat M8000 with the dropped and rolled chaincase. Hopefully with some shimming and a little luck i will be able to keep the stock oil tank right where it is and bolt it over the new belt drive. If not I am planning on making a bracket that will attach the oil tank to the front of the engine in the little cubby hole between the motor and bulkhead. If all that lines up I would also like to get the lightweight track shaft and brake rotor for another 5.5bls of weight loss. And according to my bench racing math with the belt drive/reverse delete i should be at -35lb weight loss with this setup between the gears, chain, backup gears and chain, hardware, reverse actuator, chain case fluid and lighter track shaft and brake. Gonna suck sacrificing reverse but for that kinda weight reduction I'm willing to live with it. And with even more guesstimation numbers the dry weight of the sled should be around 498 lbs dry with my lightened seat, battery, can, heat shields and insulation.
Ill post pics when i get to tearing into it.

Careful using BDXs weight numbers. For instance that lightweight brake rotor weighs the same as a factory 15 Vipers. But the new BDX “SUPER lightweight” brake rotor weighed 1lb 2.4oz less than that factory rotor which I’m pretty sure is what’s on our Sidewinders. I think they are comparing to the 2012 solid Cat rotor.
