I’ve tried this and have never been able to get the small hose down past some of the gears and chain to the bottom. Hose gets hung up on internals for me...

I have used this type to successfully remove oil from my boat motors and I have used it to remove the oil from the chaincase also. It was trial and error to get the hose down to the bottom of the chaincase, but doable. There are a variety of oil extraction pumps you can find on the internet that may be better. I used this type because I had it already on hand. Good luck with your choice.

Your better off to pull the cover. That way you can do a good inspection and clean out any debris in the bottom of the case.

I use this, or one like it. I have never had an issue getting to the bottom of the case. It has some thin and long leads.
