My buddy bought a super clean (2,000 miles) 2009 Arctic Cat Crossfire 1000 last night (twin cylinder two stroke). 136" track. Will be interesting to see how my 2016 XTX LE runs against him on big pulls! All in good fun of course! Happy he got a clean sled.

It's an Arctic Cat race him a 1/4 mile. That way even if he gets you out of the hole you can pass him once it blows.

They did a shoot out in 2012 of all sleds. The fastest in the 1/4 mile was the Apex at 98 mph & the f1000 was close at 96mph. Those big cats are quick no doubt about it.....however, the Apes got legs....very long legs as we all know :)

Nothing better, as long as you win.
My brother in law bought a 03 RX this summer same as mine, his has 23 gear and clutching done and what trash talking (friendly) have I had to listen to all summer.
Little does he now I made a couple mods without him being aware, so I have K&N kit, 22 tooth gear, Heavy Hitters & helix, exhaust work, 08 mono skid w/ice attack xt track.
Plus he's 90lbs heavier than me.
So I just been letting him ramble on but first long patch of snow it will be on my gopro for future reference. YAA

How good is your ""TOW ROPE""? He'll need it. Figure out where you want to pull him in a nice warm garage, Less hassle then on a cold trail or out on the lake !!!

I had the exact same sled last year. I've had Arctic Cat's since 2003 and their twins are strong. I am trying the Yamaha 4 stroke this year and have already spent more on this in repairs than the last 10 yrs of my Cats because I had to do my Y pipes...but I'm hoping I like the 4 stroke smoothness. I know I might not be very popular saying that but the Cat twins are about as solid as you can get.
As for the 2008 Crossfire 1000, I would say the Yamaha should outrun it IF it is stock. However, the twins are very tunable and if he puts Y pipe on it and dials in DD clutching, the cat will be hard to beat all the way to top. Even with the DD, my 2008 had crazy top end.

I won't say who would be faster but I would suggest that you stay close to home while out riding with him.....thay way it won't be too long a tow home!!
