2009 yamaha rs venture gt
I have an 09 rs venture gt. It has 4600 miles. I know they need to be rebuilt. One front shock has a leak at the reservoir on top where the adjustment knob is. The oil leaks at the shaft were the knob is. It is slight and intermttant. Can i disassemble the shock at the shaft to maybe replace an oring to help extend the life a little?
Is it under pressure of any kind? It seems like I can remove the knob and one nut to get it apart. Thanks

It is under pressure. Do not remove anything more than the knob itself. Many times the shaft that knob is on gets bent. They are available.

Thanks. Looks like I will wait until after the season and then send out all four shocks to be rebuilt.
