First snow covering the mountains, it's time to start the 2011-2012 TY Mileage thread.

Approximately 30 ft or 10 meters so far LOL, backed up out of my garage and parked outside, needed the space for the carpenters building on my house, storage space needed for the wood and stuff. We have glare ice and about 5 millimeter snow on top. Not ideal for Yamaha sliders.
Moose hunting is done for the season, I'm not a hunter but a few of my friends are. Enough moose, they filled the quota in no time.

We flew over to Eagle Lake, Maine, USA on February 24th.

Due to delays and cancelled flights we arrived Quebec City by Taxi at 4.AM. Feb. 25. The next morning we met our good friend Bob Davis. We drove the last 200 miles or 320 kms to Eagle Lake, we arrived before noon.

Bob's an excellent chef, he's serving one of his Bob's Specials, Venison Tender Loin, self shot and prepared, highest quality meat

We arrived half day late because of the storm that hit Maine and Quebec on the 24th. Luckily Bob's good friend Dana Saucier Sr. had blown snow off Bob's driveway. We spent some time outside in the beautiful weather removing a lot of snow off Bob's property.

We had a few Bud's in the afternoon and went to sleep early.


Sunday we picked up the the rental sleds at Corriveau Arctic Cat at 834 Aroostook Road, Fort Kent, ME 04743, USA.

Monday morning, we're riding over to Lake View, Long Lake.

We had a super day out riding the trails of Northern Maine

Now we know what the best trails in the world are like, all trails have more than enough snow and have been groomed into perfection by the local snowmobile clubs of Northern Maine. All I can say is WOW, even the I95 are more bumpy..... LOL I love your trailsystem.

Hi Jake, how's business going, are your trucks rolling?

We had the best rides on the best trails I'd ever ridden. This year trails in Central and Northern Maine were in super shape, the railbed on 105...... flat as my livingroom floor hahahaha we had a blast.

I hope to meet up with your next year. I'm looking into buying a used sled in the USA, will have to rent a sled next year if I don't. There's not much to choose from as many rentals has defaulted over the last few years. I'm working on a deal on an 08 Apex LTX 40th Edition.

Tuesday morning, partly cloudy, a few more inches of fresh powder, perfect weather for riding.
We started the day by clearing Bob's deck, Thomas working the showel.

Odd-Steffen fixing the forks and knives for the breakfast, great food after the snow showeling....

First stop was Fort Kent Ski-Doo.

We rode to Frenchville for lunch at Rosette's Restaurant.

Done eating lunch we headed east towards Lakeview.

Heading back home to Eagle Lake, crossing the Potato Fiels on our way westwards in the evening. Great trails and great views to go with it.

We rode to the visinity of Eagle Lake where we made a pit stop making sure all sleds was set up and working well.

We rode down south straight towards Bowlin Camps. One of our stops alongside the trail. Trail conditions was the best I ever ridden.... And this is the reason I will be back annually for my fix hahahaha the superb trails of Maine

We made a stop at a lake. Boost Bob is the lead dog. His '08 Apex LTX 40th Edition up front.

The trail conditions are at 110% perfect..... WOW

We had a 15 minute break at the lake; bragging and lying going on LOL.

My ride for the week, Hondo's 2012 Vector LTX EPS, very nice sled, I love it, now I want one.

The lodge is great for those who like the great ourdoors, summer, autumn, winter and spring.
From here you can go fishing, go hicking, go camping, go hunting and so on.
You may want to eat their speciality dinner, Bison meat, it's very good.
The owners are very nice people, the food and service we got was top notch.

You may want to hunt bear.

They have a Bison farm, here's a few of the animals that came close enough. The big ones were not present we were told.

After dinner some of us had to take a nap on the couch.

John runs The Homestead Lodge with his wife Gloria, both are very nice people. Hope to be back at their place next year.


On the trail going further south towards Bowlin Camps.

We were still full after the great dinner at Homestead. A short break on the trail up to a overlook towards Month Katahdin inside Baxter State Park.

We stopped for gas and a break at Matagamon General Store.

There's a price tag on Coyote as there is to many of them out in the wild. The Coyote's are decimating the population of deer and other small animals in the Maine wilderness. To keep the Coyote population in check the autorities pays for every Coyote shot.

Thomas and Odd-Steffen are haveing a look at the dead Coyotes.

In the evening we arrived at Bowlin Camps. Before checking in we headed up to the Mount Katahdin lookout, the lookout close to the mountains.

Thomas and Odd-Steffen found cell phone coverage at the peak, they took the opportunity to call back home to Norway

Back down at Bowlin Camps we finally checked in.

Who's the sleepy guys already in bed?

Hondo is relaxing waiting to have a cold one, Budweisers coming up we all followed his example relaxing with a Bud, due to regulations and legislation the Buds are not depicted here

It's a beautiful day, trails at it's best, smoother than the I-95.

We went to Fort Kent to watch the start of the 250 miles Sled Dog Race.

With the Sled Dogs on their way on the 250 miles race we joined the Snow-Bird Snowmobile Club vintage sled display and parade thru the streets of Fort kent.

After visiting Fort Kent we drove back to Bob's place to pic up the sleds for the last ride of our 2012 Maine Ride.

On our way back home Thomas' sled broke the drive shaft, we left the sled on the side of the road to be picked up later the next day.
