Can someone tell me the specs for testing the stator Coil on an 06 apex attack please? My pick up coil has a light grey wire and a dark grey wire and the stator itself has 3 white wires.

The only problem is that just because it tests OK does not mean it is any good. Last year mine tested OK and after I replaced it all was good.

Ok so the sled ran yesterday, it was rough starting. I just tested the stator and its testing 1.6 and 1.7 so I guess. I am going to be doing a stator change very soon. Does the motor have to come out to do it ? Or does the rear motor mounts have to be taken off? I was looking at it and to remove the cover I think I can do it without removing the motor. Is there something I am missing? Has anyone tackled this in their own garage and would be able to point me in the direction of an easier stator change?
Thanks

I did a stator last year and found it to be pretty easy. Take off body panels, drain oil out of oil tank, remove oil tank, unplug stator wire, remove R.H. engine cover. The stator is mounted inside the cover so it comes out with the cover. Is it the stator thats bad or the senser that is attatched to it ? My malfunction was the senser.

Its definitely the stator, the sensor tested to spec. I am going to have to pull the fly wheel.I just wanted some info on how to do it . Do I need to pull the motor? Or haul out the back motor mounts? I read a post on here where they said the shop charged 8 hours to change the stator.

Just removed the stator , took me 20 min! Is there supposed to be oil in the casing? The stator looks brand new its testing 519 ohm @ 20* Pickup so the pickup is within spec. 1.2 ohm on stator @ 20*, Im way out of spec.

Kirk, you are going to have to keep me posted on your outcome. I just pulled my stator, new one is on order... my sled just quit on me this weekend. I am hoping this is the solution. Where did you order yours from? I paid $244 shipped to me.

Hi I have the same problem I think. You noted that it is testing 1.6 to 1.7 . I am assuming that is the reading in ohms on each of the pairs of the wires coming out of the Stator when it is off and checking Ohm resistance? Also--did you find any good source to change the Stator? did you have to pull the engine? ANy help would be greatOk so the sled ran yesterday, it was rough starting. I have an 06 RS Venture and having same problems--but I do not know what my specs are for the stator in ohms? I heard that it should be .22 to .26 ohms at 68 degrees or 20 deg Celsius. So yours tested at 1.2 ?? but the brand new one was 519?? Confused? any help is greatJust removed the stator , took me 20 min! Is there supposed to be oil in the casing? Gosh I am down to the 3 allen heads I cant get to? and I just cant see how to get this out in my 06 RS Venture? ideas? Have you had any experience with this on this type of frame (The Vector, Venture, Rage frame in those 2005 to 2009 years?) If so--here is the link I posted tonight looking for any help at all--thanks : https://ty4stroke.com/threads/how-get-stator-out-of-06-rs-venture.164564/Watched mine get changed last winter in Quebec and it only took the guy 2 hrs. and no he didn't remove the rear motor mount.
