I own a 2009 Yamaha Apext GT, bought it new, and as of right now, it has a grand total of 560 miles. My starter seemed to have completely crapped out on me. Is this something I should expect to be a reoccurring thing, or do I just have bad luck. Unfortunately the machine where I live, has barely ever seen above 30 mph. I baby the thing and won't even drive it if there isn't plenty of snow on the ground. I have yet been able to get it out on a trail and actually do some real riding with it. So pissed off right now that I can't even ride it, and we actually have snow. So my question(s) are do you think it is going to need a full brand new starter or is there a good chance that they will be able to just take it apart and replace what is broke? Also, anyone else have this issue before?

Also I might add we attempted to already jump the battery right to the starter, dealer told us to try it, and basically we were welding with no kick over at all. When we removed the starter it doesn't even spin and is completely seized up. Ticks me off that a 3 year old sled, that really has barely been rode, needs a new starter.

It has been said before, letting them sit is worse on them than actually riding them.
Not sure what to tell you other than maybe post this in the Apex section as I don't believe the numbers that come to this one are as great great?

Good luck. ;)!
