Oh well, i was thinking it was going to be a little lighter than that but i guess i will just have to put it on a diet myself. The rep at the demo ridesd was telling us it would be around the same weight as the new rmk's, guess he was wrong. All in all, i guess it doesnt matter, im still getting it. Happy trails boys.

I understand that, i ordered the mtn lite, hence the title, "lite". ANyway, i guess i was at least hoping for a sled that was sub 500 lbs but i guess that is wishful thinking. I am still eager to get the sled and start giving it a few little touches of my own.

It still rode much lighter than its actual weight so i know it will be a kick butt sled. Im ready for it, bring it on and the snow.

The weights of these sled should not be a suprise. We've known the weights since spring. They are a little on the heavy side. Particularly the venture lite which I had considered buying for my wifes sled.

misprint

There are some mistakes in the Yamaha catalogue and web site this year. It might be a misprint.

40lbs does sound excessive. I'd figure 15lbs for the longer track, another 10lbs for the longer rear skid and maybe 5lbs for the tunnel extension and brackets. So the total is 30lbs but you have to figure the front end is more narrow so a little bit could be subtracted off there. The plain jane shocks will be heavier than gas shocks, I wouldn't think it would be much. It comes with a taller windshield.. right? Figure another 1/4 to 1/2 pound.

It would be nice to know if it is a print error. Unfortunately, I would not be surprised if it comes in at the 514lbs. The 474lb base Phazer does not have reverse (10lbs easy) plus it has a low profile track.
