I went a whole 5kms over the holidays...on about .25" of snow. We did some drag racing but that's about it. I did get acouple vids so at least it's something......

OK what gives you got two different ski's on that thing? carbide marks one looks like a stock ski the other a simmons probably time for new ones anyway LOL

LOL...I left the old worn carbides on it for early riding and the one side has a piece at the back that drags so when I have the skis turned it looks like two. I actually tipped the sled up to find out WTF was happening.

I actually got to ride my sled!!! Went about 260kms over two days last weekend (my home internet has been out all week)...not much but at least we got out. There wasn't alot of snow and no base so I burned through a set of 'bides and took a nice size rock to my hood. I am really impressed with the ergos of the nytro seat on the RX and the ECP's work fantastic.
There were tonnes of sleds out as we had the only ridable snow around. The most fun though was probably running around on the snoscoot!! I can't believe how they go!

ditto on the snowscoot - we have a snosport(bigblock?)it is fun to do everything you're afraid to to do on your regular sled-great for getting everyone involved!!

Well I went back up north this weekend to RIDE..like really get some miles on. On the way up we kept checking the trails we passed and they all seemed to be groomed and have good snow. I was getting excited!!
So, I knew I had a few minutes work ahead of me...having worn my carbides off completely during the last ride. I put the sled up on it's side and started changing the runner and noticed that I had a slider missing...like completely...I'm thinking..."that's odd". The bolt in the front is broken off as well...this is going to take awhile longer. I figure I better check the rest of the skid...I find the transfer rod just dangling in there. The W arm was completely wrecked. I couldn't beleive it! I've only had one ride on it. Anyways, I spent Saturday repairing it while the other guys rode 300kms...I managed a meager 130kms today so it wasn't a total loss.

Just got home from a 4 day trip to Kirkland Lake (Ontario). We met/loaded/slept Friday night near Parry Sound and left early Saturday morning trailering to KL. The drive was nice and dry so the sleds stayed clean (I HATE trailering because of the mess). We arrived and were unloaded in KL by about 2pm and set out for a quick afternoon ride.
Day 1
We headed north to Matheson which is about 100kms. We were met with good trails especially since there isn't as much snow as usual up there. There was a good mixture of bush, hydro/pipe line, and rail bed. Off trail was not so good..I found out quickly to stay on the trail as there was no base and not much covering the many rocks on the hydro lines. Luckly there was no damage done...and no pictures lol. We made Matheson, had a quick snack got some fuel and ran back to KL for a late dinner at the hotel.

Day 2
We started the day at -25C..of course both 4strokes started without hesitation....one of the two Vipers on the other hand had a frozen fuel pump and didn't wanna go. Thank goodness for the hotel provided hair dryer..acouple of minutes on high and the Viper was good to go. We had planned to run east to the Quebec boarder (Larder Lake) then south to Earlton but found once we hit the boarder that the trail south no longer exsisted..so..we back tracked a few kms (30..) and picked up a different trail and ran south to Englehart where we grabbed fuel and food. This trail was soft and smooth and I don't think it had been groomed yet this season. It was great running!
We continued on to Earlton which was alot of fast field running but again very smooth and fast. We ran up to Elk lake on the TOP A trail which has about 40kms of rail bed...which is very FAST and actually cost one the Vipers (the other one) a belt. There was also some very nice bush riding and some very nice scenery once you got off the rail bed. After Elk Lake we were headed back to KL via some bush trails and logging roads..we were even back before dark!!

Day 3
Another VERY cold morning...we all started. This was planned as an overnight trip to Timmins via Cochrane. Mike and I both rode with packs which was surprisingly comfortable. This trip had us running over our route from day one for the first 100kms but once on the trail we were making first tracks on a perfectly groomed trail! It was again more of the same beautiful trails all the way to Cochrane where we ate and fueled up for the VERY FAST trip down to Timmins on the hydro line.

Mike comes down with food poisoning or the Norwalk flu...something. It wasn't pretty and knocked him out for Day 4.
Day 4
After an eventful evening we awoke to another beautiful, albeit cold, morning. We had a late breakfast in hopes the Mike would recover enough to ride back to KL..but it wasn't to be. The hotel people were nice enough to let him stay in the room until we could come retrieve him with a truck. So off we went just the three of use. Our first stop was the Esso in Timmins were I experienced two "firsts"..one..I beat the RTX by $.25 in fuel...two..I was propositioned by a 70 year old lady in the parking lot!! CREEEPY!!
We ran pretty steady back to KL without many stops for pictures and we managed the whole 220kms without needing fuel..which is a change for me since buying the RX. Once back in KL I got loaded up and headed back to Timmins to retrieve our fallen comrade and his trusty steed. I found him in fair condition and ready to go home! We then loaded his sled and headed back to Parry Sound. I drove sled/truck for about 13 hours in total..I was tired!!!

Day 5..extra bonus day...
It was such a beautiful day we couldn't waste it. We did a quick run down the Sequin trail to the Tim Hortons with Doug, his wife Jo and their 3 year old Klarice. It was FANTASTIC...beautiful sun, nice temp and a first ride for Klarice. I managed to get some video of her riding with Dad and even got some good pics of my sled...something I never take the time to do.
