When I installed the JT rear wheel kit on my 20 sidewinder the wheels touch transfer blocks shaft even with the track super tight, anybody come across this?

Thanks

Did you get the correct size wheels?

I told Todd they were for a 20 ltx and he sent me 8.25” wheels. I thought I might of did something wrong but the in stall is pretty straight forward.

Is it a NEW track with zero stretch? (with new studs installed??)).. I will say if its a new track/and newly studded it can be tight but usually not touching.. If its a new track tighten it up so it is just snug to the slides the whole length.. Seems tight as Hel*, BUT after 50-100 miles she will stretch.. OR you have the wrong diameter wheels.. I will check mine later today on a 2021 8000 cat 137" and post a pic of measurement wheel diameter.

Forgot to ask what length skid?

No track and studs are original with 6000km, I bought the kit off Todd last winter but just in stalled it a few weeks ago, last night I changed out the idler wheels with Todd new ones and noticed that the wheels are touching even with the track super tight.
Skid is 137”.

Wrong wheel diameter is guess. I will measure mine in a few hours and post for you.. You should be using the same as my 2021 8000 cat 137". I have his kit in that sled with 1100 miles on it from last year. I really thought 8.25 is what I have ???

I checked track and it seems good, meshed correctly around drive axle.

Thanks Jonlafon1 for the pics, mine are the same 8.2”.

I can get about 1/8” gap between wheels and transfer rod if I really tighten track up.

Is 1/8” gap safe?

As long as you have some gap I don't see a issue. I remember doing my 17 with a new track and new studs and it was damn tight to start but after a few hundred miles I had like 1/4 for sure

I came across the same thing on my install. I just ground the rod where the wheels touch a little for clearance. After some use there will be clearance.

Should be set at 20lbs 1"-1.25".

Just got a new tool for this. To bad your not closer.

I used to measure like this.. Its not tight enough IMO. Lots of power and studs and it will balloon to much. I like to run it(trail riding) hanging just slightly off the slides. less then 1/8 with sled on stand. Plenty of guys run the track tight to the slides.
