Hi,
This is my setup for my Garmin Montana 700i mount.
Very simple and low cost.
Ram mount # RAM-B-247U-15.

If it can help anyone.

Is that the only part that you bought? Any closer ups of the way you mounted on handlebars
Yes, 2 parts only.

Let me know if you need more info.

I did the same thing. I think i'm using a 4 inch arm, and I cut a half circle out of the handle bar pad to help keep it centered. It stays in place well if it is tight enough. I like the setup as it is easy to glance at while moving and I can take it in with me easily if I need to. I also added another power port to plug in it with

I have since added another gauge pod and a small handlebar bag I had on my 2001 The bag covers the mount nicely The gauges are again for quick glances as I can't read the small print on the cluster.

I had mine mounted to the riser like that but found it hard to look at except when stopped. I moved it to above the factory gauges and now I can glance at it when coming to intersections with out taking my eyes off the trail. I used a 1” Ram ball mount on a adhesive base and stuck it right behind the factory gauge.

This!
This is what I’m thinking but with the XT2 if the new guage doesn’t pan out with a retrofit to our sidewinders.

I installed the dash caddy last year and mounted my 8" tablet on it.
Works great and a great place to carry my hat for when going inside the warming areas.

This!
Anyone have any advice on how to mount the Garmin car gps units? The mount is a circular mount and it should have a simple mount but I'm stumped on this one on how to keep it secure and from flying off.

I drilled 4 holes in the door of the dash caddy.
The holes are the bolt pattern of the ram mount on the back of my tablet holder.
Just bolted my tablet holder to door.

It won’t come off. Ran all this season with that mount. It’s surprising how solid and secure it is.

You can mount it to anything. The dash caddy, BOP gps bracket ect.
