rs speed censor

I have a problem with my speed censor on my 05 rs venture. Is there something i can do until I get one. If I unplug it from the harness will this cause any problems?????

The speedo goes all eratic and jumps all over the place .

If its the same as the RX1 take the sensor off just under the secondary. It is held on by two nuts. Put the nuts back on. The speedo will read 0. You don't have to disconnect any wires. The speedo will read 0 and it will not effect any other guages.

tried that and drove a couple of miles and code 84 started to flash and the engine started to backfire so I had to put it back in place again. I will try and contact the dealer tomorrow. In the meantime .................
