2010 Maine TY Ride Feb 26-28

Wish I had checked this out earlier! Oh well, maybe next time. I'm now live down here in Saco and haven't met up with too many riders yet. I moved from the Schoolic Lake area(fantastic riding). Maybe Snowbandit we'll hook up sometime. I miss that northern riding. LMK when you are heading up...

    2007 Feb Maine TY Ride

Stay away from the western part of the county. Ashland, Portage, Eagle Lake-no snow. Their trails are down to stumps, rocks and bare ground. The Eastern part up thru Fort Fairfield is very lean on snow and the potato fields are pretty barren. ITS 83 is OK, and RTE 105 is good. Fort Kent is good...

    Damn

Rain took anything we had around here in North Centeral Maine. Grand total of 56 miles this year. So warm even the lake I live at is breaking up. Usually have 2 feet of ice and more than that in snow by this time of year. Someone must have made "mother nature" pretty mad.

    dead rx-1 please help!!!!

No, a 12 volt 6 amp charge will not fully charge the battery. You need to use a 12 volt 2 amp charge on it. These batteries need to be "trickle" charged to fully recover. Mine takes anywhere from 12 hours to 2 days to regain it's full charge. (depending how low it was to begin with) The 2 amp...

    2005 RX 1 Maintenance questions

Not sure off the top of my head what the temp is for the "idiot light", but that info has been posted on this site. A search should find it. My light was always coming on even when it wasn't icy but very hardpacked. I know the rear heat exchanger was only about $44.00 + labor, but my dealer...

    2005 RX 1 Maintenance questions

No, it's not just a pipe. It's a complete heat exchanger. Probably 5 by 14 inches. you do have to cut-out the hole a little for the fitting that attaches the heater hose, but otherwise it's a perfect fit. A must have for sure.

    2005 RX 1 Maintenance questions

Had the rear heat exchanger installe right off last year.World of difference! This sled never even gets close to overheating anymore, no matter what the conditions. Wish I could say the same for the slides. Had to replace those. Forgot how Yamaha is about warranty stuff. Been away for a few...

    2005 RX 1 Maintenance questions

I would defintely check the bushings, especially the A arms. Mine were trashed with only 2352 miles on it. Normal according to Yamaha. Dealer wants $300 to install jerks. When I get the time I will give it a try.

    Well Boys

Don't know how long the good riding will last. When out today for a short 100 miles or so. Trails were good but you could tell they don't have much longer. Just too warm. starting to see some dirt spots and there was nobody else out. I'm thinking today might have been it. Great year, late coming...

Another 20 inches of snow for Maine

Too much around here. It makes the trails hard to groom. Guess I'll have to live with it LaLaLa

    Studding an 05 RX-1

It wasn't the shock spring but the top of the shock itself. There isn't enough room between the track and shock once weigh is placed on the sled. It rattles like hell. Sounds like a bucket of bolts. Even without the studs in, you can see a fine mark in the middle of the track that still rubs the...

    Tune up and TPS

Where exactly do you take the readings at. You use an ohm meter? How do you set the tps to get the proper reading?

    Tune up and TPS

Dealer sync'd my carbs, that's why I asked. I seem to have a power loss after that.

    Tune up and TPS

So how do you set them?
