    School me on communicators...please.

This year we "upgraded" to the Chatterbox X1 slim Bluetooth. The units are smaller and lighter and the helmet clip is much different. The previous speakers I had were pretty big and dug into my ears sometimes. The new speakers are much thinner. Battery life is outstanding. Here is the issue. I'm...

    Turned To the Yellow Side...

Just wanted to say thanks to Tom for this unbelievable website. Over the years the help and knowledge I've gotten from this site is unmeasurable. From my 1998 SRX 600 to an 02 Viper then an 03 RX-1 , with a 97 SX as a side sled, I've never failed to find help, parts, info, or all of the above on...

BigDogRX1-signing out as rider, Thanks for the years

Larry, sorry to hear that. I've given you a lot of crap over the years about RX-1s, but I still ride one. Hope you realize a lot of it was just frustration with the two I have to maintain, nothing personal. I'll give the throttle a blip in your honor on my next ride. Take care of that back...

POLL: What Skis are you running?

So let me get this straight. You guys spend 14K on a new sled and Yamaha still can't make a decent pair of skis for it? How long has Yamaha been making snowmobiles? Completely ludicrous.

    seafoam

Remember not to park in front of another sled or you will throw that soot crap all over it.

    Jackshaft bearing spacer

No idea. The right stuff to use is in picture 2 of 3 that you posted earlier. The other setup is flawed and if it fails might cost you a lot more money than just getting the right stuff.

    Jackshaft bearing spacer

From what I recall, without the new style collar, if you lost your jackshaft bearing, you would blow up your chain case due to misalignment. It was a mid-season update. When you get the new stuff, make sure you tighten that collar nut very tight or it will work it's way loose. Check it...

    New here with a question.

You're welcome. Did you clean your carbs? Don't be fooled by a good idle in the garage.

RX1--summer bucket list projects (mods) whats yours

Use an impact tool on the carb screws. The kind that you strike with a hammer and it loosens thing. I hit it with my palm instead of a hammer.

    New here with a question.

There is no connection between the two carbs at that point. Looks like it, but no. The two vent lines plug into the black lines that you can see in the picture. You have them reversed. You can see the brass coupling in the clear hose on one and in the black hose on the other. Do yourself a favor...

    New Guy Here

Welcome. If you have some time, take a road trip to Highlands Yamaha in Countryside, Illinois. Once the snow shows are over, their showroom is loaded with gear and parts. It's pretty much a mecca of Yamaha.

    Looking at buying a 2003 RX-1

A 121" RX-1 will not go ten feet in powder or off trail, but if you don't know a lot about sleds or have the ability to work on them, I'd go with the 2005 which seems to be more stock.

    Those Who Have Swapped Suspensions

So just a follow up after one season on my SC-4. Just under 1000 miles this year. El Nino. The skid is a huge improvement over the pro action, that's for sure. I can actually fly over some stutter bumps without veering off the trail. I didn't get to dial it in very much, so I had it set a little...
