I save my old slides. Stick them between track and rails. Helps get in and out. Skid is suprizingly heavy tring to get out of those nubs

I believe the paint rubbing off is normal. Might be a bearing. When doing your drivers check speedo bearing to. Not sure how many miles you have

Here is the spring facts. I can not remember all the details but you take skid out then take control rods apart. Just some E or C clips. Take the aluminum stop nuts off. Then I grinded some notches so springs wouldn't spin. Put on and used a ratchet strap to compress and reassembled

Well had the skid out and after 1600 miles all is well. Not even no damage to the threads. I'll give a report after this season

Hey guys. Not sure if pic loaded but was seeing what you thought about the plate I put on. I have an xtx and the plate starts at the end of header. I figured the track would draw air from the top of the tunnel to help cool muffler and the header would get snow on it.

So I took skid back out and checked every thing out. Springs are c48-187-128 closed and ground. Solid height is 2.048 I beleave I'm at the max put skid back in and with torsion springs flipped loose I still have some space between coils. So I'm comfident I can't hurt anything. Made new limiter...
