Sounds like the connector, not the ballast. I went through the same issue last year. He has since upgraded the connector box and wire (sorry, dont know the proper name but its the male clip/box). He's a standup guy and will def help you out.

Mine doesn't spew coolant when riding. It did it during 10 mins of being off. This is the first time it had actually done that, hopefully the last. Going to take the water pump off tonight and inspect. Really hoping its this.

So I did the leak down test, fluid remained blue. What i noticed was the radiator was smoking and the coolant was trying to push up the tester tube.

It's just very inconsistent with the overheating. Really, really hoping for waterpump. Is it just easier to replace the whole unit?

Final update (hopefully) Ran sled for the last 2 days, it seems the burping did a lot. When under load down trail, it was consistently running 71-73* Fahrenheit. Obviously at idle, it was increasing but nothing out of the norm. Fingers crossed this continues. Thanks for the input.

Quick update: - Performed a combustion dye test and dye stayed the same color (phew) so for now, i'm going to rule head gasket out. - Put the sled up on a snowbank and ran it through 3 heat cycles, it did burp. - Ran it in the garage yesterday, at idle (with garage doors opened :P) fan kicked...

Happy Friday, Looking to replace just the thermostat on my '14 Viper w/ MCX190. On Yamaha Part site, it lists the whole housing, I only want the thermostat. The old one doesn't have a temp stamped on it, only "USA 44mm" Is there a replacement? Aftermarket? TIA
