are the shocks in the skid of a base 2008 nytro rebuildable? I know the front by gytr ones are for 2008, but not sure on the skid shocks. The price Yamaha Canada wants for them I assume they are, but not sure ($550 and $650!) just looking to freshen them up
Thanks
That's good news as the old one for the 2008 nytro's was kinda ugly compared to the bracket for the '09+
Looking at doing this next season with a 1.6" ice cobra.
Op is talking about jack shaft bearing. The one behind secondary.
The people talking about the bolt breaking are referring to the driveshaft. The bolt is on the bottom gear in the Chaincase.
I will be upgrading to this track as well. The last few years we have been getting big snow storms. Last season was crazy, groomers constantly getting stuck, that's a lot of snow! My 1.25" ripsaw was just about useless.
I already added the tric a-arm mounted ice scratchers, which work great...
Tight area, but I did mine this fall. Remove retainer plate from front side, 2 set screws from back side and mine came out with a little pry. Careful to get the right 2 set screws. There is a hex shaped thing just to the track side of the bearing collar. No need to remove the set screw from this.
I have 6" inside and outside on my pilot skis, and I only have a 121" track 1.25 lug. You will have issues with under steer this time of year as most conditions are not set up.
My right side shock is closer to my a arm at the back than the left. Been like that for 2 full seasons now, it handles fine, if it ever gets worse I will repair it then. If there are no ill effects why fix it?
