Studded my track anyways without installing tunnel protectors and no rubbing

i just bought a 2013 nytro xtx 1.25 (wrote off my 2009 xtx) and was going to stud my track and found there r no tunnel protectors but there is on the heatextanger and yamaha wants a lot of money for them. just wondering if i really need to install the back 2? thanks
