We are no longer supporting TapaTalk as a mobile app for our sites. The TapaTalk App has many issues with speed on our server as well as security holes that leave us vulnerable to attacks and spammers.
I don't own a the Sidewinder but what I have read is the SRX is designed specifically to have the highest top speed in the industry. Sacrifices are made to achieve that including the 1" lug. If you want a fast trail sled with less compromises the LTX is likely the better choice. Still crazy fast...
If set on Celsius then mine normally runs at about 75-80 c and have never seen it beyond 90 c. Fan will run when riding and audible at lower speeds. Don't know if it runs when you are going faster.
One thing I pick up from the original post is "try on". Hopefully when you find the helmet you like that you will buy it from the place you tried it on and not on-line. We need to support our local dealers so they will still be there when we need a belt right now or emergency service. Give the...
My first start of the year was very good. A year ago before the latest flash, it struggled and took 3 or 4 tries to get it running. This year I did the same routine and it fired first try and was running smoothly right away. I think the new flash is an improvement for cold starting. It was...
First serious cold start since the flash today. -28C overnight and around -23C when I started it. Fired up 1st try cranking slightly slower though probably due to being outside all night. It usually is in my garage where it is seldom lower than -3C. It was just fine and what one would expect...
It has always been controversial as to how to measure it. I have mine halfway between the marks without screwing the dipstick in. Figure I'm safe either way. Manual isn't clear on which is correct.
The hot RPM is the same as before at 1500. Haven't had a chance to see cold RPM yet. Seems a bit smoother midrange but again might be the fact we have about 2" powder on the trails.
Had mine done this morning. Haven't had a cold start yet but did notice the RPM seems to be slower to return to idle. Almost seems like the engine drops to idle and the tach is slow to return to 1500. If it solves the other problems it doesn't really matter I guess.
When I bought my Viper a few years ago the dealer had an STX on the floor with windshield mirrors like the Cat. Wonder what the part # is as it should be still available. Don't think it is in the accessory catalogue.
It seems a long interval for oil filter changes but remember a snowmobile shouldn't be exposed to dust and dirt like summer use vehicle would. i have a filter I bought last spring for the end of season change before I realized I was no where close to Yamaha recommendation. Probably just save it...
My 17's speedometer is bang on with my GPS at 60 mph and other speeds too. I haven't tried checking the odometer but might compare next time I'm out. Mine hasn't had the new flash yet.
I was just thinking throttle body sync too. My motorcycle was having occasional stalling issues and a sync seems to have cured it. Not much talk of syncing the throttle bodies here on this site.
So now I have an idea how to do the belt change. I did notice while figuring it out that the secondary pulley has play in out of about maybe 0.050" when I was trying to remove the belt. Is this normal?
The belt has never been of from new.
