I took off the bottom cover of the motor by the oil filter and the timing chain is really loose. So it looks like it was the timing chain/chain tensioner all along. Not sure when I am going to fix it, have been busy doing other stuff.
I think the starter is cranking the engine over with the plugs in. I don't think the starter was stuck on because I have the starter saver warning light which I don't think was on at the time. I might try and take a look at the one way bearing like cannondale27 said. I could be a...
So guys, Why do you think it is in the starter or starter clutch? I was driving the snowmobile when the engine died, so doesn't that mean it is in the engine not the starter or starter clutches? Hibshman25 when the plugs are in, trying to start it it is clunking. I have not tried...
How do I go about checking the pto bearing? That's the bearing by the primary clutch right? I don't think it would be the starter clutch because the starter is working turning the engine over and also the sled conked out on me when I was driving it.
Hi guys, So last winter I was using my 09 vector and it started to make a whining sound in the engine. I ran it like that for a few hundred miles with the whining noise disappearing and then coming back. And then came the day... I was riding on a groomed trail and the sled just shut...
Is there a way to check to see if it is warped? Like should I put the snowmobile on a jack and hit the throttle some to see if it is warped? Do the primary's get warped or is it just the secondary?
two of the belts part of the top was coming off and the other one the top came off and it made a mess but it did not get wrapped around the secondary clutch.
Yesterday I blew another belt. That is number 3. I was going 60 to 70 MPH and it was fine and then I was opening it up on a strait stretch and it blew.
I got my new primary spring and rollers and also the bushing for the secondary. The only other part that I ordered was the secondary spring and that has not come in yet. I put on around 700 miles with the 2002 v-max secondary clutch and did not blow a belt in that amount of miles. So today...
Last year I had on an aftermarket belt and that was blown at the end of the year. But I did get 3,000 something miles out of a new belt this year. I am getting some parts for both of my clutches but I still might have a dealer go over the primary and maybe the secondary this summer.
I put on a 2002 v-max secondary clutch until I get the parts for mine and get mine fixed. So far I have over 300 miles with this v-max clutch and have not blown a belt yet... I did check the sheave offset and from what I can tell it is more than what it should be. So I would need to take...
