Before syncing carbs I want to make sure they are clean. Do people normally take apart the top of the carb to clean if its only idle speed that it not working properly. And if the pilot screw an air/fuel mixture adjustment.

So bottle jack inside tunnel to push it apart. I cut the old one out and about to attempt installing new one. 13hrs into this but also doing oil change at the same time.

I did remove the long bolt. It only moves so slight. I can confirm all rivets are out as I can move it enough to see there are no more rivets. I am not sure where to go from here.
