How about a large rubber band wrapped around quite a few times? I've done it before on other machines, it works great and still allows you to use the switch when you want to.

Why go to all that trouble, just exchange your 7 gallon fuel tank and put on a 10 gallon fuel tank. Quick and simple , just not as cheep.
