You can not just go to a 22T upper gear on the NYTRO. This calls for use of a 70L chain, and is not recommended. I found out after purchasing and reading the Tech. bulletin book from Yami. The chain is then too long and requires too much adjuster bolt. The chain ends up looking like a letter B...
Just picked mine up this week.. Was not on back order, had it within a week, central NY. Make sure you get the updated superceded part, with the plates welded in. I believe it was 8GL-24910-10-00, going on memory there.. Good luck.

Thinking about going to taller gearing.. On this model, it is not as easy as just putting a bigger top gear on.. This forces the use of a new 70L chain which is NOT RECOMMENDED by Yamaha.. Too long.. I went to a 22T upper and a 38T lower so that I could use the stock 68L chain...
HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED AN IGNITION CUT ON AND OFF ON THEIR NYTROS. I EXPERIENCED THAT THIS WEEKEND.. MACHINE STARTED CUTTING IN AN OUT (IGNITION, LIGHTING, ETC) AS IF THE KEY WERE BEING TURNED ON AND OFF DURING RIDE. THIS WAS ABOUT AN HOUR INTO THE RIDE, SO MACHINE WAS HOT.. THE NEXT DAY, IT RAN...
