Thanks a bunch guys.
I don't have a flex joint on that connection yet, but I do plan on it. I did talk to Justin before the install. He had lots of good advice. I plan on getting his updates.
How bad of a leak on the exhaust side will cause this much boost loss? I ran the sled with the...
Well I went for my first ride on my Apex since boosting it with a Bender rear mount. It seems to pull really hard, but it is only getting a tad over 6lbs of boost on the high setting and about 4.5/5 lbs on low boost. I made a fixture and attached it to the intake on the turbo and...
Where are you guys sourcing accessory power for your gauges on an Apex? I just have to hook the gauges up and I'm ready to take my first boosted test ride.
Thanks
Thanks for the replys
I got it figured out. Thanks to lakercr. The timing was off. I'm going to go get some spark plugs and more coolant and then I'll fire it up again. I expect much better results this time.
I think the chain jumped a tooth
Does someone have any pictures of the camshaft sprockets at TDC or an easy way to tell if it is off?
I have the valve cover off and the motor at TDC right now. I would post a picture, but the motor is still in the sled.
THanks
Just installed it and put in 3 stock head gaskets. fired it up and it won't even come close to an idle. If I hold the throttle open part way, I can get it to idle but tried the idle screw and the black knob on the end of the IAC with not much change at all. The pure logic box is set on 1 at...
Thanks
Yeah, I got all of those figured out last night except the IAC filter. Can you describe where the Idle air controller is or a picture? I sure appreciate the help. I'm getting excited now. Gotta go out and finish it up this morning.
I've got most of it figured out, but have a few questions. I have two small "k&n type" air filters. I assume one of them goes to the crankcase breather that used to go to the air box. Where does the other one go? Also, the fuel controller has a clear tube coming off of it. I have a picture...
Well, I'm installing a bender stage 2 tomorrow on my Apex. I have the sled torn down in preparation and already did the stacked gaskets for the head and done with the clutching. I have some Bender stage 2 RX1 directions in my posession, but I don't have any for the Apex. Sure would appreciate...
I am putting my head back on tomorrow with 3 head gaskets on my Apex. I hear there is a special "Ted's torque specs". Can someone let me know what that is. Much appreciated. I love this site. Lots of good information. Oh and a big thanks to Ted.
Are there some instructions posted online for this. I understand there are some cam timing changes that need to be made and maybe some torque changes from the manual. Thanks
Can someone send me a copy of the instructions to golfaddicted@comcast.net
I would sure appreciate it. I'm going to be installing the kit I'm getting from lakercr. Thanks
Speaking of clutching
I have a 162 x 2.5 x 16 camo extreme, run at 3-7000 feet, and plan on 8-12lb of boost. This is in the mountains. What clutching would you guys recommend?
hmmm
Are you saying that the apex bender turbo is designed by Justin and is really a full performance turbo or that the full performance turbo is better than the apex bender kit? Sorry, I'm just confused. I'll call Justin today. Thanks
Woodinville
Lee,
The dealer in woodinville, wa has a blue with reverse listed for 8999 plus 398 for freight and setup. That was without haggling. I almost bought it, but can't justify it this year. I'll wait till they get the bugs out.
