You can fit a 2" track if you remove the tunnel and heat exchanger protectors out. 1.5" if you leave the protectors in. I have a 1.75" back country and am really happy with it.
Definitely go with the 1.75". I was in the same position a month ago and I'm really glad I didn't go with the 1.5". I did the tracks USA 144 kit with tip up rails and I'm very happy with it.
The protectors are there to protect from studs but they also limit you to a 1.5" track. If you remove them you can install up to a 2" track. Kit took me about 8 hours I think with a buddy to help with taking out the driveshaft. Can't help you with the skid relocate as I haven't done it
I just did the tracks USA extension. 121-144 with a 1.75 back country. All the parts are really nice and there's a great thread in the FAQ section on how to do the track change. I talked with the guys at Bender Racing for info on what to do as far as clutching and gearing. They recommended...
No grease=frozen handle
Grease=not frozen handle
Do you really think greasing the shaft behind the handle is going to attract "particles" and wear it out? How often do you use reverse? You would literally have to cycle the handle thousands of times to wear it out. Grease will help keep...
I just installed these. They go on the top side of the grating. Take the grating off of the side panel and stick them on the top. It's a good idea to get one for the vent behind the a arm on the right side to. 5"x3" rectangle fits on pretty good
Yea I had the same problem a few days ago. Moisture is getting on the shaft below the handle. Pull it back and put a good marine type grease on it and work it back and forth a few times. That should fix the problem.
No you don't need to. I run the same track with just the stock drivers. Extroverts are nice because you can run the track alot more loose but they aren't necessary. My track sags about an inch in the middle when its on the stand.
I actually prefer the backcountry over the ripsaw on the trail. It corners just as good as the ripsaw and hooks up 100 times better. The ripsaw does not hook up and just spins. Maybe the ripsaw 2 is good, not sure I've never tried one. Only thing I know is ill never buy a ripsaw ever again. It...
I had the same problem last year. Bottom plastic skid fell off somewhere on the trail. It worked fine on hard packed snow but as soon as I hit powder it slipped like crazy.
